1994-04-23: the cage - amherst college - amherst, massachusetts
a really nice sounding recording of a neat show from the second night of a short tour leading up to the release of "swamp ophelia". all but one song from the new record are played ("fare the well" is the exception), and it is cool to hear the crowd react so well to so many songs they have never heard before, including "touch me fall" with its electric guitars. some slight distortion in places, but it does not take away from a great show.

1994-06-28: radio city music hall - new york, new york
a pretty good sounding recording of a great show from the "swamp ophelia" tour, pieced together in its entirety by combining tracks from two commercial boots of that era, nothing to hide and days of wine and roses. in addition to a number of guest appearances, there is also a short stream of conscious segment during "touch me fall". shortly after this leg of the tour "touch me fall" started extending out past the 10 minute mark, and on occasion more than twice that number. if you have a particular interest in stream of conscious lyrics there is a fan assembled boot called rants and raves that has nothing but, the sounds quality of which varies greatly from track to track.

an okay recording of part of the last show prior to the disney tv special taping the following night, most notable for the very sweet and very funny discussion that takes place before "virginia woolf", which amy starts off by talking about the issues she is having with the lead guitar part on "fugitive", and emily's responses are priceless.

1994-11-21: sheperd's bush empire - london, england
an excellent recording of the whole show, minus the officially released tracks "language or the kiss" and "galileo". includes an amazing 16 minute "touch me fall-cortez the killer".

1994-11-22: sheperd's bush empire - london, england
a really good recording of a very neat show, was being taped for a disney tv special and there ended up being three encores as a couple of songs needed to be played twice. some of the talking between songs is missing. the "continuity music" leading into the second take of "power of two" is really fun, as is the lead in to the second "fugitive", and the show is closed by a very special "strange fire". at almost two and a half hours, the longest known show since amy and emily's multi-set bar shows back before "indigo girls" was released.

1994-12-31: rainy day records - atlanta, georgia (amy ray)
an excellent sounding recording of a solo acoustic performance that amy ray made on new years eve in 1994. rainy day records was a store front record store in a strip mall in northeast atlanta, whose proprietor perry was a big supporter of the atlanta music scene and who used to have a lot of the local artists come by and give afternoon performances in his store. rainy day records was also the source of the "early recordings" series of bootlegs (these are available for download in the "commercial bootlegs" section of this page), the last i heard of perry was that he had retired to the florida keys in the late 1990's. in this recording amy borrows caroline aiken's guitar to play "three hits", "duncan" (a paul simon cover), and "problem child", an early version of "go" with differing lyrics.
