about these files:

this cd is part of an ongoing series of cds featuring video clips of indigo girls from over the years.   there are many additional clips waiting to be encoded, and new volumes will be released periodically.  the cds are not for sale, and are intended to be passed from fan to fan for free.   if you enjoy them, please share them with as many fans as possible.

the video files contained on this cd are created in the windows .avi file format and have been tested and are known to work with windows media player 6.4 and windows media player 7.0.  if you do not have a player on your system to view the files, the windows media players are available as free downloads from www.microsoft.com.

the file sizes are large to provide the best quality playback.  they have been tested on a pentium 233mmx with 128mb of ram where they provided fairly smooth playback, and a pentium iii 1ghz with 256mb of ram where they provided very smooth playback.  the higher you set your screen resolution while viewing them, the crisper they will appear on your screen.  

the video and audio quality of the files varies from clip to clip, and accurately relects the quality of the master video tapes.  in all cases the best possible source tape was used.  

the two lines of pixilation at the bottom of each of the videos are a 'feature' of my equipment setup which i am unfortunately unable to get rid of.

the techie stuff:

these files were created using a pentium iii 1 ghz computer with 256mb of ram, a hauppage win tv dbx-stereo tv card, a sony vcr, and mgi video wave iii software.  the software capture settings were hauppage video-in-a-window with cd quality audio.  the software encoding settings were video on a cd-rom - avi (indeo video 5.06 compression with 100% quality, a 320x240 frame size, and a 30 fps frame rate) with 16-bit stereo.
