hello to all,

i was up early this morning watching cnn headline news and
on the entertainment news at about 7:45 - 7:55 the report was
about musicians and anti-nuclear issues that they support and
sing about in songs. there was a brief interview with amy (who
was sporting very short hair), ghram nash and they showed a
clip of ig doing gotm, and jackson browne playing at a no nukes
concert.

i'm guessing they will run it either every hour, or every other hour
like they did the sc concert cancelation story. set your vcr's
if you are interested.

hi . i'm waaaay behind on reading my e-mail
so i don't know if this has been posted yet.
here are excerts from an ig interview from the june '98
insite
magazine, a boston free monthly paper.

"have you seen or heard of the episode of south park
where, among other things,
your music and wearing birkenstocks were
requirements for being a lesbian?

emily saliers: '
"yeah, i have a copy, i think i have two
copies of it at home that were sent to me but i
haven't watched it yet. our publicist
and dear friend called up all excited about that."

"are the dolls on the cover of shaming of the sun meant
to represent you?"

es: yeah, loosely. we have a friend who's an artist,
and he's actually done....
he did the cover of swamp ophelia and a lot of
our t-shirt designs,
his name is michael allen, and he found these
dolls and showed them to amy, and she was like
oh my god, they look
like us. and then we just didn't want like the
typical photo shot for the cover of the
album so we chose those."

for the two "shed your skin" eps (blue and red) because people
have been having so much trouble finding them..]

hey there,

excitement for all nz ig fans last night when "the drum", a nz
20something magazine show, showed an interview with the ig's
in san francisco!!!!!!

i think it was a nzer who interviewed them, the drum was doing
a segment on san francisco, showing a lot of the gay culture,
and talking to a gay cop.

the ig segment was short, probably bearly 5 minutes, showed a
bit of the concert in san francisco... anyone know when that
was, some time this year? showed clips of galileo and shame
on you...

the interview was interesting but short, looks like they were in
a dressing room backstage. they talked about how they got the
name indigo girls and how they prefer to be called gay and not
lesbian, as the word lesbian sounds like a disease (don't flame
me they said it..!!!) and homophobia...

the great thing about it was the camera work was close up and
amy had a shirt on that you could see her chest tattoo. now i
saw that tattoo in an aussie concert and i could swear it wasn't
as big as it looked last night. it was huge! must cover her whole
breast plate...! and it must go part way across both her breasts
(now, now settle..!) and a long way down... wow, anyone know
anything about it...!

needless to say it was taped, but the beginning was missed, a
shot of the ig names in lights at the venue, so this saturday
when it's replayed i will be sure to tape the whole thing...!

now, there must be more to this interview as they didn't say the
hi's and bye's, so i am trying to get a hold of people at the drum
to see if i can get a copy of the whole interview... so everyone
cross there fingers for me..!!!

also, i don't know if this was shown in usa or oz, can anyone
remember anything like what i've just described...?
