chickenman! opened it up.  so cool to hear that as an opener.
and david ellison has gotten so much better on his harmonica.
he was a total freak last december, but this time he nailed it. :)

they played i don't wanna know which was cool because i'd never
heard that live.  they also played galileo, least complicated,
ghost, scooter boys, down by the river, get out the map, closer
to fine (of course) and amy started playing the chords for the
water is wide a couple of times before emily's got her guitar
brought to her on stage.  there was this pause where amy had her
guitar and emily's standing there at the mic looking off-stage and
amy starts playing that opening a chord for twiw.  i was really
hoping to hear that live (but read last paragraph and you'll see
why i didn't).

they were so full of energy!  it was the highest energy concert
i've ever been to.  i stood the entire time and sang and danced
and really just left my mind for a while.  i was **so** into the
music.  *sigh*   it took me at least an hour to wind down after
their performance. :)  and my friend, who was never really a big
ig fan is now a total convert.  he was realing!!!  it was awesome.

and the big shocker for the night?  sarah mclachlan is pregnant
(so they said, but they didn't seem certain of it) and was sick
and cancelled her set!!!  weird, eh?  :)  some of the people were
yelling out horrible stuff about her on the way out because of it.
i was like "give her a break, asshole!"  but, whatever... all the
other performers came on stage and apologized for her and told us.
it was handled very nicely.

hey everybody!

i was just browsing the amazon.com site when i noticed that this week's
celebrity picks includes our very own emily.  here it is:

emily saliers~indigo girls

- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- ----
the indigo girls have always been about the harmonious collaboration of
two distinct personalities and songwriting styles. when emily saliers's
warm, earthy voice and studious songwriting meets amy ray's raspier rock
vocals and more reaching, spontaneous songwriting, the two elements
harmonize to create an unmistakable sound composed of emotional depth,
passion, honesty, and integrity. saliers and ray formed the indigo girls
in 1985 and released strange fire on their own indigo records in 1987.
their major-label debut, indigo girls, won a grammy award for best
contemporary folk album in 1989. their 1997 release, shaming of the sun,
is their most ambitious musically, combining elements of folk, world
beat, native american music, and rock.

what's your favorite road-trip album?
little earthquakes by tori amos.

we all have a few guilty pleasures in our record collection. what's one
of yours?
physical by olivia newton-john.

what cd do you play when you want to make people dance at your party?
nature of a sista by queen latifah.
