girls mailing list at netspace.org.]

greetings to all in the land of indigo.

last nights suffragette show in burlington was so incredible!  an awesome
show, with so much power and intensity. of course, being in the front row
right in front of amy didn't hurt either ;).  amy and emily were rocking out,
in extreme manners during a number of songs.  kate shellehbach rocked on
drums, josephine wiggs and gail ann dorsey on bass, (her voice is so
incredible).  the diversity of the musicians and music played was astounding,
from a rockin version of "power of two", to slower ballads by lisa germano,
jane sibbery and lourdes perez, to spoken word/alterna-punk poetry of jean
smith and thalla zedek was awesome.

the new songs the girls threw in, in addition to "power of two '98" were "go",
"faye tucker", and a new song by emily with spoken word by jean smith
intertwined.
for encores they did a song by jean sibbery about the sea being her mistress,
it was so good, and during some technical problems of getting gail's guitar
set up amy took charge and started messing around with the first few chords of
"blister in the sun."  when the crowd went nuts they just jumped into it head
first and it was so awesome seing amy and emily totally rock out.  the final
song was an incredible cover of ziggy stardust, totally blew me away.

other cool stuff was hearing amy and emily sing co-lead on the lucious jackson
tune "under your skin", and them singing in spanish on a lourdes perez song,
and lourdes perez singing the chorus of po2 in spanish.

i hope to god that there is a boot of this show somewhere out there!  if there
is please share this with us!  (i will gladly be a branch or trade boots for
it).

anyway, i am still trying to wake up after a 3 1/2 hr drive home and 4 hours
of sleep.

my final words to anyone who has an opportunity to see this tour, don't pass
it up....
go! go! go!

take care and peace!

choice..mostly featuring the yummy looking sarah b.

the playlist for next week's show is posted on the web now
(http://www.acafe.com).  the girls will be playing "gone again," "it's
alright," "galileo," and "go."  they will be split up though - the first two
in the first half of the show, the second two in the second half.

it looks like they are also playing a shawn mullins song near the beginning
- - yay!

can't wait till monday to hear it!

virginia :)
