"the tattoo axe thingy isn't called a labrynth (that's a maze) it's a
labrys. it was the axe used by the amazons and has come to be a lesbian
symbol. it was used more in the seventies than today."
nope it's still used today *nods* in fact gina gershon's tattoo in bound
(it was on her upper arm though) was what prompted me to get my second
tattoo. i wanted one identical to hers but i couldn't get a clear picture
of it so i took what i could get of hers and printed another clear picture
of a generic labrys and took it to the tattoo artist who went in the back
and worked wonders. i got it on the inside of my right forearm.
i think the prevailing meaning is strength/women...which i really like.
the fact that it's a lesbian symbol is cool to me too though *heh*

hey y'all!
i'm baaaaack! how many of you noticed my silence? it was a direct
result of too short a phone cable, and too energetic a laptop (not to
mention a flimsy floppy mattress). can you say "bye bye modem?"
well, if you can't, i hope you never have to learn how.
anyhow, i'm graduating law school in a month, and coming to the states
to celebrate with my family, so i was checking to see who's playing
where. but i guess everyone heard i was coming and quickly rearranged
their schedules to make sure they weren't playing *specifically* in the
three weeks i'd be in the us.
seriously. check dar, ani, erin mckeown, rose... check em. even wendy
and michelle are out to get me. i'm going to be in ny march 20-26th,
and in la from march 26th - april 11th.
everyone's playing gigs either somewhere near ny or la *up to* march
20th, then taking a break till... oh, about april 13th or so.
i'm sensing a conspiracy.
anyhow, to my fellow californian compadres, i came across this - patty
griffin *rocks* as i'm sure jilly would tell you, and i highly suggest
you check her out if you can.
cuz i can't.
wouldn't you know.

saw one of michelle's color posters posted on a telephone pole near
vanderbilt yesterday but i couldn't read the writing from the street.
so...i checked out michelle's web site and turns out she's playing this
thursday night at your way cafe, a women's bar here in town. actually,
it's not really a club, imho, it's more like a place for women to drink
and play pool. anyway, michelle will be there thursday night and so
will i. anyone else going? not sure what time it starts...i think
someone is opening up for her, and that will probably be around 8:00 or
9:00. ywc is located at 515 2nd ave. s. in nashville. you can access it
easily by taking the 2nd/4th avenue exit off of i-40, and turning left
onto 2nd avenue (a couple of blocks once you've exited the internstate).
i think ywc is maybe 5 blocks or so on the left. the place is pretty
small, so it might be best to get there early. i'd love to meet up with
some of y'all!

for anyone planning on going to michelle's gig at your way cafe in
nashville thursday night, whether you turn left or right onto 2nd avenue
depends on which direction you're coming from on i-40. if you're
traveling east, you would exit and then turn left onto 2nd avenue.
however, if you're traveling west on i-40, i believe you would exit and
then turn right onto 2nd ave.. at any rate, 2nd ave. is a one-way
street, so you'll be able to see which way you need to turn!

i was there on saturday night and it was a great night of music. no, ig
did not show up, although i know many of us had it on our minds throughout
the night. i was looking through the items they had on silent auction
and heard an employee trying to convince a woman that they really didn't
know who might show up on any given night, that tons of people wanted to
perform. we asked our waitress and she said she thought ig were in
europe, and that their showing up was just a rumor that someone had spread
around. anyway, i had never heard any the performers before, so it was all
new and wonderful to me. michelle malone was definitely a crowd favorite,
as was uncle mark's "roll me up and smoke me when i die." (he obviously
has a great sense of humor!) i really had no idea who uncle mark was
before this, but all the performers seem to have a
lot of love and respect for him, and were proud to be a part of the
benefit. i can't remember the names of all the performers (there's adam
dorfman?, michelle penn, the wild west show? etc) but it was
a great group of people. the show lasted about 5 and 1/2 hours from start
to finish, so my butt was really hurting from sitting in the same chair
for so long! but it was worth it. and they said it was sold out, so
that is a good sign. hope everyone else who was there over the three
nights had a good time.
oh, yeah, they recorded all three nights of music, and will eventually
have the cds available for everyone to buy, so look out for that. that
should be a great sample of music.

sorry to post this to the list. someone posted a statement about a gay
student at the university of cincinnati recently. i am currently on a panel
at a cincinnati company which is exploring diversity within our employees, and
am interested in adding "sexual orientation" as a category in which the
company is diverse. i had hoped to print off this posting to share with my
co-workers on the panel - and somehow all of my saved mail from the past 2
months is nowhere to be found. i thought this posting could be an eye-opener
to those on the panel who might restrict "diversity" to a racial definition,
and wanted to show an example of what someone said right in our backyard. if
anyone saved this posting, or if you originally sent it and could forward me a
copy i would be grateful. furthermore if anyone has any additional info which
they think would be helpful feel free to pass it on. i want to ensure that
sexual orientation is included in the discussion so at least jokes, etc. in
the workplace can be curbed. thanks for your help.

hootie and the blowfish slip into a couple of verses of closer to fine in

falwell calls 'teletubby' gay
falwell calls 'teletubby' gay
by david reed=
associated press writer=
roanoke, va. (ap) _ the rev. jerry falwell is trying to out
tinky winky, suggesting that the purple, purse-toting character on
television's popular ''teletubbies'' children's show is gay.
a spokesman for itsy bitsy entertainment co., which licenses
the
teletubbies in the united states, said the purse is actually tinky
winky's magic bag.
''the fact that he carries a magic bag doesn't make him gay,''
steve rice said. ''it's a children's show, folks. to think we would
be putting sexual innuendo in a children's show is kind of
outlandish.''
the february edition of the national liberty journal, edited
and
published by falwell, contains an article warning parents that the
rotund teletubby with the triangular antenna may be a gay role
model.
to support its claim, the publication says tinky winky has the
voice of a boy but carries a purse. ''he is purple _ the gay-pride
color; and his antenna is shaped like a triangle _ the gay-pride
symbol.''
falwell contends the ''subtle depictions'' are intentional and
issued a statement tuesday that said, ''as a christian i feel that
role modeling the gay lifestyle is damaging to the moral lives of
children.''
the british show aimed at toddlers began airing on u.s. public
television stations last spring. the teletubbies are portrayed by
actors in oversized, brightly colored costumes. they all have
television screens on their tummies.
rice said falwell was attacking ''something sweet and
innocent''
to further his conservative political agenda.
falwell's spokeswoman, laura swickard, said the founder of the
now-defunct moral majority agreed with everything that was in the
nlj article and would not comment beyond his one-paragraph
statement.

yup, you're right. the import cd that it is found on is called corporate
rockers. it was recorded live at the north charleston collesium in south
carolina in august of 95. (i think). they launch into a verse or two of c2f
in the middle of only wanna be w/ you... and i think darius says something
about how both songs have similar chords and how he loves c2f. something like
that. have you ever seen the video for the song time by hootie? same
concert. i was a hootie fan before i discovered ig, and was at that concert.
(hey, i was a teenybopper then!) good show though... and i clearly remember
hearing c2f and thinking "ya know, i really should buy an ig cd." too bad it
took me 2 years to get around to it! but i digress (something i'm quite good
at, too...)
love and laughter,

okay...here we gooooo.
i just got home, and i think i'm slowly getting over the recent
happenings...y'all know what those are,
...relationships with men that get you thinking, "is this the one who's going
to take me out of my freaky world into a "normal" boring world?",
...car wrecks that get you thinking about mortality and singing the lines of
"nomads, indians, saints" about mortality, and
...career advances that get you thinking about "what are my goals here, and
should i write that one that just popped into my head down?", etc.
anyway, it can be said that this list rocks b/c i finally met someone from
here who lives close to me (hi jason!).
i have some cool thoughts about amy's gift.
1. during the concert at eddie's, she was wearing a brown striped shirt, big
ol' collar on it! one of the buttons fell off, and she said she needed to sew
it back on...she didn't have a sewing kit with her. you know how important
sewing kits are...small enough to fit in any pocket but practical enough to
use everywhere! i think she probably has a lot of them (from fans) b/c of
that, but it's just a thought.
2. another gift i think she'd like is nail polish (funky colors and homemade
if anyone makes it).
3. oh, and maybe a teletubby, the one that jerry fawell (sp?) thinks is gay.
those are my ideas....
um, shelly, what ever happened to that listee complilation tape?

hey everyone..
just wanted to correct a small fact. it wasn't a shirt button that fell off..
it was her pants button. she did ask for a sewing kit.. and eddie did have
one. i watched her sew it at the break between shows. (she turned her back and
and worked on it) if anyone has the boot.. you'll hear michelle malone say:
"that was from the last bite of tufurkey..." amy also said that she had
stapled it before the show.. but it wasn't holding.. i was close enough to see
the button when she dug it out of her pocket.. lol..
after she finished.. i had a chance to ask: "gee.. i hope you didn't pierce
yourself sewing back your button.. " she smiled.. and laughed.. "almost." was
her answer.
oh well..

on my way home from work today, i was listening to an ig cd, singing
along at the top of my lungs ( as usual ) and an interesting question
came to me. now, i know we are all really big fans, and heaven forbid we
should ever criticize the girls, but here goes.....
i am sure everyone has that one indigo girls song that they don't care
for, and find themselves either skipping it or fast forwarding over it
for whatever reason. which indigo girls song is that for you, and why?
mine is "the girl with the weight of the world in her hands".
i can't tell you why i don't like it, but it just really bugs me.
so, i am very interested in your responses to this. takers, anyone?

i absolutely can't stand hey jesus or caramia, and i don't really like
history of us. caramia and history of us i don't like simply because i
just don't like them. hey jesus, however... well, the short version is
that i was raised christian. (i'm not anymore.) i was abused as a
child and i would pray and pray and pray and nothing happened because
whatever god i was praying to wasn't listening or else didn't care.
that song, especially the line about "we call you in our despair and you
don't come through", well it's so true for me that it hurts. i can't
listen to that song because it rips me apart inside.

i never could say that there was an ig song that i don't like, but i do have
one that i like a lot less than the rest. for me it's "get out the map".
the reason? i guess i think it is a just a bit too corn ponish.
i am crazy about everything else, though there have been ones that took time
to grow on me and then turned out to be one of my favs. "don't give that
girl a gun" was like that for me.

good question. i like it.
for me it would be caramia, gwtwotwihh and airplane.
airplane just is too cutesy and the roches push it over the edge into
unlistenable. it is the only song on rites that i don't like. caramia?
overwrought and highly annoying after 5 listens. girl with the weight...
depressing and too pessimistic for my taste. even when amy has angst at least
there's hope.
in any case, just my three cents... :)

this is so funny. my friend and i were just discussing this tonight,
becuase we are making each other mix tapes and wouldn't want to put on
any unliked songs. the thing that was amazing was that there really was
hardly any that we don't like, but a couple there are. i cannot stand
this train revised. it grates on my nerves in a way that i cannot
explain. which is too bad becuase so is one of my favorite albums. the
album least liked so far has been shaming of the sun, with a few songs
that are *just* tolerable. my two cents. tricia

hmmm, i guess i don't like older emily songs. lyrically and musically
they are swell, but i hate how emily sang back then-in the early years
like self titled. she sang at the very low end of her range and sounds
all breathy etc. i just don't like it; shes much better higher,
especially w/ the bluesy stuff....
but her old ballads are nicely written, poorly sung.....
anyway....

on the other hand, i don't much care for dgttag. i've tried. i
have. i appreciate that there's a lot of raw emotion in that song. but
musically and lyrically, i don't think it's all that great. for pure
emotion, i prefer keeper of my heart and.. well, ptntf.
gee, a n*i*s fan? me? never...
it also took me about a million years to come to like crazy game.
it wasn't until i heard the version on early recordings vol iii that i
realy came to like it, and i still prefer that version.

i don't think steve is on the list anymore, but i am hosting the

gwtwotwihh is one of mine too... the title is reason enough, but the
melodrama of the song is too much for me. the only other one i can think
of is "love's recovery," which has some great sentiments but in general is
a little too sappy for me, it wore thin rather quickly.
i think it's a great compliment to ig that most of the songs we seem to
dislike are the older ones... i'm sure they feel that they've grown as
songwriters, and so far we seem to agree. in fact, i was just thinking
that the boots from the sots tour have had the longest play of any boots
i've ever had.. i can just listen to them over and over and never get sick
of them, which is very, very unusual for me, and causes about 100 new cds
to be sitting around, unopened, gathering dust! i really think the last
few albums are so much better than the first few (which were still great),
and i can't wait to hear what they have for us next, even though we've
already got a pretty good idea (and those sneak peeks are part of what's
kept me listening to those boots!).

i'd have to say airplane. i can deal with it sometimes, but not always.
for a long time, i didn't like power of two, because it was just so soft
and sweet and cuddly, and i wanted heartbreak and angst (dead man's
hill, touch me fall)...i like it more now, but its still not one of my
fave's.

i, too, am having a bit of difficulty understanding how one couldn't love
virginia woolfe, but of course, we all have our preferences. when i
listen to that song i remember riding the metro buses and trains in dc a
few summers ago when i had an internship there. i would look around at
all the people going to and from work every day and they all seemed so
unhappy, so uninspired, and so wishing they were somewhere else. i know,
the subway isn't the place most of us would want to be if we could
choose, but you know what i mean. i would listen to vw on my headset and
be reminded that the work i would do that day (i was interning at a
non-profit that works to end hunger and poverty) would be really important
and valuable. the words to the song would lift me above my sleepiness and
annoyance at having to travel so long to get to work, and i really wanted
to pass my headphones around to give everyone a little inspiration for the
day. the song really helped me.
sorry, i know i'm supposed to be talking about the songs i don't like, but
i just felt like sharing. i agree, too, with whoever mentioned the
quality of emily's voice in the earlier years. a few days ago i played
love's recovery for a friend, the studio version, and i was a little
shocked at how different her voice sounds from the live version of the
song. there are a few songs that just carry more life when i hear the
live version.
what do you all think, should we start a petition or something for another
release (like 1200 curfews) with more live versions of songs? there were
a lot of posts recently about how those cds were many people's favorites.
just doing a little dreaming i guess.

i love that song--reminds me of home (texas) every time i hear it. i have
been living out in the middle of a cultural wasteland (phoenix) for the past 3
years working on my phd and all i want is just to go back home. if i can't
actually go back to austin, then anywhere in the south will do.

i really like southland in the springtime. i, like emily, was born in conn.
and moved down here to georgia when i was seven. i know exactly what she
means in the song because i feel the same way. i may originally be a yankee

like a reflex, the first thing that pops into my head at the suggestion that
anything ig have done could be less than loved and adored and worshipped. but
alas, i must admit to varying degrees of enjoyment of the 50+ songs i have to
listen to. i certainly don't admit to anyone who is not a total fan that
there is anything in that long list of songs that i don't like. only to y'all
would i admit that i ffwd through "caramia" on my concert video... in fact, i
could do without some of emily's syrupy "love's recovery"..."wood song" ...
"hey jesus"... but then again, i love "love with come to you"... "ghost"...
i love reading through the letters and finding little agreement among us as to
the "good" songs and the rest. ig are so huge, just briming over with
expressions and experiments, living such enormous lives and offering us their
talents which then enlarge us all in different ways. that's all i can say. i
think. y'all will have to excuse me...i'm stoned on codeine (perfectly legal)
tonight.
freida.

hey y'all--yeah, i realize that i repeated my subject line, but i felt like
saying it again, all right?! :)
i'm celebrating several things. first of all, art--the small, unhappy
computer man at bluffton--finally got his arse up to my room and fixed my
internet connection, so no more computer lab for me! second, wow, fellow
ohioans, is it a balmy night or what?! thunderstorms kick, well, you
know--especially when it's february and it's warm.
as for what songs i don't like...um...welcome me sort of annoys me, and i'm
not sure why. i think maybe it's the "wa-wa-wa-wa" sorta-sounding thing at
the beginning of it. and--someone's bound to lynch me over this one--i
can't stand romeo and juliet! it's better live, but still--amy sounds like
freaking bob dylan, and sue me, but that's just not a good thing in my book.
i don't know.
oh, by the way, about the indicated 4 tape--my friend bethany was in charge
of that, and she's living in columbus right now without access to email, so
i'll try to get ahold of her and see what she's planning to do with that
whole thing. i'm supposed to talk to her this weekend. if you have a
question, why don't you email me privately and i'll see if i can either
answer it or ask her when i talk to her.
hope you're all having a great evening!

hey!
tonight my friend and i were at the mall (aka dirt mall) and i happened to
pick up a copy of this free music magazine because there was an article on
japanese pop music (all my faves...takako minekawa, buffalo daughter, the
zoobombs, etc). anyway, so i (procrastinating as usual) decided to
actually read the other articles. in one section with blurbs called
"raves", they quoted amy ray! i was so excited! no pics or anything,
just this quote:
"there's a happening new band out of birmingham, alabama called three
finger cowboy. i hear strains of magnapop, t rex, and the ramones' garage
pop punk. their new album kissed can be asoundtrack for a movie called
high school desperado. i like a good southern band that plays as a band
with no grandstanding by anyone and no pretensions, just good song writing
-- the kids wanna rock and roll"
anyway...pretty nifty...

hello!
i almost always ffwd through chickenman, fugitive, welcome me, and touch
me fall. i used to ffwd through 3 hits and nashville. nashville,
probably because it's on blue food, and i love blue food!
ay, and 123 is growing on me! i also used to not understand why people
would request romeo and juliet live, until i heard it on rop.
i first heard southland... on the watershed video, and i thought it was
really sweet hearing emily begin that song, and amy listening intently.
after briefly visiting augusta, ga, and going through several train and
bus stations, airports, and hotel rooms on my interview tour in january,
i came to know what it means to not be home for three weeks. and i
wondered how sport players and musicians could endure being in a
different place every night or every other night. of course, they are
doing what they love to do, but even then touring can get tedious on
some days. so that homesickness and love for home in sits is one thing
i could identify with.
you're funny, janene (i lol'd on that one).
anyway, i remember someone on the list loves emm gryner. i cut out an
article out of a local newspaper (riverside press-enterprise) for
whomever that is, if you want it. it has a terrific, big pic of emm.
email me privately.
oh, one more thing--about this train revised, i used to ffwd through
that one also--until i learned what it's about. i cry when i listen to
that song. i read a few of maya angelou's poems today--i got so angry
that i had to stop reading them. injustice just steams me up.

a couple of people asked me for directions to the showcase and i
accidentally deleted their e-mails. oops! so i am posting directions
to douglas corner here.
douglas corner cafe is located at 2106 8th ave., south. you will need
to take the wedgewood ave. exit off of i-65 (i believe it is exit 80).
for specific directions, see below. douglas corner is located at the
intersection (traffic light) of 8th ave. south and douglas ave. it is
across the street from zanies comedy club.
from the north - take i-65 south to the wedgewood exit, turn right, go
to the traffic light at 8th ave. s. and turn left. douglas corner is a
couple of blocks on the left.
from east or west - take i-40 into downtown nashville, take i-65 south,
and follow directions above.
from the south - take i-65 north, and take the wedgewood exit. turn
left at the light, then proceed a couple of blocks to the light at 8th
ave. south, and turn left, go a couple of blocks and douglas corner is
on the left.
from the southeast - take i-24 west into nashville, merge into i-40
west, and when you get close to downtown, take i-65 south to the
wedgewood exit and turn right off the exit. go to the traffic light at
8th ave. s, and turn left. douglas corner is a couple of blocks on the
left.
the showcase starts at 8:30 p.m. cst. i won't be checking my mail again
until after i get off work, so i won't be able to provide further

i love this song. there's something about it that just hits me right in
the heart. sometimes, i even have tears rolling down my cheeks. you see,
i'm the opposite of emily. i was born in the south and have spent most of
my life living in the north. there is something about the south. i can't
get it out of my blood. every time i go there i feel instantly at home.
it only takes me about a day to start talking like a southerner. gee, this
is getting me more and more excited about my trip to the carolinas in...18
days!!!! that and the fact that there is now a f***ing blizzard outside.
and it was 61 yesterday. go figure.

way back, when i was still in high school and living out in california,
this was one of my favorite songs. it made me feel safe and happy and
even now reminds me of walking home after softball tryouts to sit on the
back porch in the new spring sun and warm my body (radio speakers on my
windowsill facing out of my bedroom windows to play the girls' music so
i could hear it outside). for all the crazyness that i remember about
this time (and there was plenty), this is a really good memory.

concert news 2/12/99
r.e.m. announced their first tour in several years, and it includes a stop
thursday sept. 2nd at bumbershoot. although the first reports were that the
date was selected to celebrate sarah moore's 29th birthday, apparently,
guitarist peter buck, who lives in seattle just really likes bumbershoot, so
they agreed to play it. details at: http://www.pollstar.com/gossipnf.htm#no1

20th at 9 a.m. her shows in yakima and portland go on sale tomorrow. details

tom petty is likely to tour this summer. kjr-fm dj norm gregory's weekly
mail reports: "tom petty & the heartbreakers will be at the fillmore in san
francisco march 7-17 . . . for 10 shows. tom petty's new album, 'echo,' is
due in april . . . then maybe more touring? his email was short and to the
point: 'echo official release date is april 7, 1999. fillmore in march. u.s.
tour june. official website on the way.' " i would certainly expect to see
him come to the northwest, probably the gorge.

no, not late. the only reply so far...
i kinda thought that might have been the case (and a lot of the tracks on
that tape are known by more than one name... at least to me...)
then my next question would be... (becaue i'm a curious soul...)
why is that the only song of that era to be registered with bmi?
i'm wondering if it actually got released by someone and that's why.
anyway... thanks for the info... 'preciate it.

good news!
a fellow list member has donated space so that mp3s of the following
show can be downloaded:
august 12, 1997
lilith fair
burgettstown, pa
shed your skin (5.28mb)
get out the map (3.77mb)
tried to be true (2.95mb)
power of two (4.82mb)
shame on you (4.36mb)
galileo (4.68mb)
chickenman (8.39mb)
the water is wide (4.36mb)
closer to fine (5.11mb)
as you can see, the total show is pretty large (43.7mb), it is
128kbps/44khz stereo and i think the quality is really good.
the fan who donated the server space would like to keep the ftp
address private, and asks that you to email me if you would like to
get the address. once you receive the address please do not post it on
the web, in email lists, or to news groups.
also, please be considerate and if you are part of a group that can
easily share files, consider designating one person to download the
files and then share them instead of each person individually trying
to download them from the server. the files will be available on the
server for a week.
we are close to having another site up hopefully early next week with
some different files, if you have any server space you would like to
share please email me so that we can make more shows available.
thank you,
janet

america's heritage forests are at risk. these scenic, unprotected wilderness
areas provide unmatched opportunities for camping, hiking and other
recreational pursuits, valuable habitat for fish and wildlife, and abundant
supplies of clean drinking water. these forests are a natural legacy for
future generations.
but heritage forests are not permanently protected from logging, road building
and mining.
the clinton-gore administration must immediately implement a policy to
permanently protect america's heritage forests, consisting of our remaining
national forest roadless areas 1,000 acres and larger, from logging, road
construction, mining, and other damaging activities. we have a responsibility
to future generations to protect our last wild, unprotected forests.
send a postcard to the clinton-gore administration today to protect america's
heritage forests.

hey everyone! today in the mail i recieved the soa (school of the americas)
watch update. on the front page there is a pretty good pic of amy at the mic
w\ her guitar, kinda small.
so, the soa is planning another protest in d.c. may 1-4.
may 1st: white house rally, pentagon vigil and civil disobedience
may 2nd: nonviolent cd action training
may 3&4: capitol steps vigil lobby days.
on the 1st there is also going to be a benefit concert at 8 p.m. with pete
seeger, odetta, jon fromer, and grupo morazan. it also says that indigo girls
and bonnie raitt have been invited. does anybody know anything about this?
for more info about soa, write soa watch po box 4566 washington, d.c. 20017 or

well, its nice you mention that soa protest!!!
i was planning on going to all that becuase its right after school gets
out for me. i want to go camping at shanandoah natl park a few days
before the protest stuff, and we can camp in the evening afterward. i
guess its probably an hour and a half drive from dc, but the natl park
is beautiful!!
and now there may be a concert! wow
if any one is interested in camping before and during the protest stuff,
tell me!
if there are any campgrounds closer to dc we could camp there, but i
must camp for a few days before at snp.
i've always wanted to protest in dc.
anyway...

sorry this is such short notice, but i only just found out about
it... the one and only caroline aiken will be playing at the germantown

philadelphia and easily accessible by public transit). tickets are $12,
and last time i checked they weren't nearly sold out. if you want more
info, the number is (215) 247-1300.
i hope some of you can make it - if things work out i hope to see
some of you there!
take care -

i use winamp to listen to and convert mp3's. in the preferences window
(ctrl-p), on the 'output' tab, just change the default output device from
your sound card (i.e. sb16 wave out) to a (silent) output to a wav file.
next time you press play, it will prompt you for a wav filename. keep in
mind that a 4 megabyte mp3 can be as large as 50 megs when uncompressed to
a wav!
katie
ps winamp is at http://www.nullsoft.com/amp
