hey everyone,

thanks so much for responding to my post.  for those who are interested, out
of 37 replies i got the following: 11 have received their cds and 8 have
received their tickets.  so it looks like everything is on its way . . . we
just have to be a little more patient . . . damnit!

i know enough about bumpershoot to make me dangerous, basically it's a labor
day music fest with a gazillion bands (and believe it - not a slam or
anything - ig are not even the most interesting in my eyes, reason to
go..they host every type of genre, lots of indie, waay below the radio type
stuff) rem is already onsale (not sold out and general admission, go
figure...) i know several people are planning newport trips (myself
included) falcon ridge trips (myself not included, but a cottage on th
belgrade lakes awaits me..) or bumpershoot trips (i'm planning on flying
out...list meet?)

seattle and bumpershoot - you should have plenty of warning by being on the
ig list... really!
(just remember, there usually is someone *more obsessive* than you on the
list, some times you just *happen* to be the person who gets all the details
first...)

bonnie raitt, jackson browne, bruce hornsby,
> and shawn colvin all on the same bill?!?),

^^^^^^^^^^ this show is happening at great woods as well.. hornsby has been
raving about this for a month and a half...

shawn colvin and hornsby are playing the ben and jerry's "one world" fest as
well (so is great big sea, who rock my world almost as much as ig or
hornsby - sorry - hornsby rocks my world!)

the one world fest is 6/26 in warren, vt.

*check everything a second time - my words are often mistaken - but i know
the great woods gig is goingg to happen...*

hi y'all :-)

quite a while ago, there was talk about a dusty spingfield tribute album
with the ig doing one song. does anyone know what became of this? is it
still planned or even already recorded and waiting for me to be picked up at
my nearest record store??

and while i'm here...i saw jewel in concert near frankfurt, germany. even
though she obviously didn't have her best day, the show was better than i
expected. especially because of this wonderful special guest she had, steve
poltz. he's definitely worth his own concert! man, can than guy play the
guitar!!! he also joined jewel's band lateron. (always laughing and making
nonsense, thawing her up by and by, it seemed.)

ciao

hey y'all

i had a bit of trouble finding this, so i thought i'd post it in case
anyone else couldn't find it

http://www.rollingstone.com/sections/news/text/newsarticle.asp?afl=&newsid=8037
&navchoice=news&lookupstring=348

all on one line

i hope this works and they don't move it too soon

sorry if it's a repeat - i'm on digest

it doesn't actually say that the album is finished - just that it is
*nearly* finished

anyone have any idea about titles?
or what to take a guess?

they have a habit of not actually naming the album after a song, but
either
lyrics in a song (so, n*i*s) or something connected to one or more of the
songs (rop, sots)

the article says they have 13 songs *so far* , sooo there maybe more

i'm trying to compile a list of songs that we know/suspect will be
released this time round

chiapas bound (ar)
cold beer and remote control (es)
faye tucker (ar) (article says this is definitely on it)
go (ar)
gone again (ar) (i love the australian references in this song :)))
ozilene (ar)
sister (ar)
the boys just laugh (ar)
winthrop (es)

well thats 9 - gee amy's been a busy girl, or has emily just been keeping
her new songs a secret?
usually they have a fairly balanced number of songs

are forgiveness and clues to you new or old?  i really like forgiveness, i
hope its on the album.
haven't heard cty yet

and did the rest of problem child that didn't turn into go just die or
what?

i'm thinking go would be a good name? any other theories?

love peace and rock'n'roll
joanna

hi again

after that rave i was looking at the gone again lyrics on lifeblood
(www.lifeblood.net)

does anyone know the story behind this song and when it was written
obviously its about a trip to australia - and it was performed here on
their feb 1998 tour. i jsut wonder if it was written then, or whether it
was from a previous aust trip.

and does anyone know what the rainbow room or the melbourne wrecking crew
refer to?
btw - kakado as it is spelt on the lifeblood lyrics is actually kakadu - a
national park in northern teritory which has a lot of aboriginal heritage
and is currently the site of uranuim mining which is causing a lot of
protests - so i imagine it would be a place of interest for amy, besides
being the destination for "that trip for two"

anyway - if you know anything about song or want to discuss it post to the
list or email me privately as you see fit

well, about forgiveness and clues to you.... forgiveness is relatively new.  however, clues to you first appeared on color me grey, the solo tape amy recorded back in 1982.  (if i'm wrong on that date, someone please feel free to correct me.)  it's a very pretty song.  the lyrics are transcribed below, from color me grey.  i'll be interested to see if this one shows up, and if/how much it's changed.

on those days when the sun barely touches the sky
your eyes are so heavy with the morning
and there you lie on the horizon of my mind
streams flow through the consciousness of time
and i'll follow your every movement for a clue to you
cover my eyes with your deepness
wrap my soul in the beauty of it all
take me away from my incompleteness
meet me all the way or not at all and
time's too precious here
i can't wait for clues to you
i can't wait for clues to you
don't wake me if i'm dreaming no no no
this is my reality
if i touch you tell me, will you blow away?
please don't move now until you set me free, set me free
i can't wait for clues to you
name the time and i'll be your place
remove my eyes from this deadly haze
i've been living shades of blue and grey
don't you know i'm ready for a brighter place and
time's too precious here
i can't wait for clues to you
i can't wait for clues to you
won't you catch me if i fall too fast?
don't let me fly too high
you've released me from my earthly grasp (? i'm not sure about this last word)
and now you've got me in your sky, in your sky
i can't wait for clues to you
i don't want to wait any more for clues
let it rain, let it wash on down
i can't wait for clues to you
i don't want to wait any more for clues

this is my first time postiing as i am new to this list. i am a
longtime fan and just need a little bit of help.
i just got a new job and i can afford a new car!! i also would like
personalized plates that have something to do with the indigo girls. in
wisconsin you can have 7 letters and one space...any suggestions. my
favorite so far is daemon.(i tend to favor amy). i am open to all
suggestions except anything having to do with the song power of two(my
ex liked pwruv2 for the license plates) you know how it is :) i want no
memories of her on my new car...too many on the old one.  also anyone
know where i can get any indigo girls bumper stickers...my old one is
going ba-bye with the old car.
much love,
nikki

if you are not on the list, and would like to be, feel free to
email me privately.  i will put you on the list asap.  some people have
just included their email address and birthday, others include their real
name, and lots include quotes.  any form is acceptable.  similarly, if you
are on the list and would like to add/change/delete your entry, do so
privately and i will update.  do not forget to include your b-day if you
are in the add/change/delete category...i really don't want to sift
through hundreds of entries to find yours.  thanks :)

peace out!

first and most imprortantly:
elizabeth nolf (whose email address i have not) - thankyouthankyouthankyou

>personalized plates that have something to do with the indigo girls. in
>wisconsin you can have 7 letters and one space...any suggestions. my
>favorite so far is daemon.

and so: neil (after an unscheduled trip to toronto and back, and who is way
behind on email) suggests these (and variations thereof):

chkn man
3 hits
ndigo gl
godhap
sajarez (sp?)
swamp o
kid fear
cedr tre
sctr boy

personalizing slighltly:
nik 4 amy

and if you have a beetle:
iggy bug

but prefers overall (although he's sure he's missing something):
indigo g

neil (who's beetle's plate is soon to be abi road, for hopefully obvious
reasons...)
@}--,--'--

currently in neil's cd players, and so highly reccomended:
jimmy webb - 'ten easy pieces' (still !); gavin bryars - 'the sinking of the
titanic'; harry nilsson - 'harry'; mary lou lord 'got no shadow'

i came across this today, one of my girlfriends cd's, and thought you all
might be interested.  it's a wonderful cd, with plenty of talent.  some songs
are by: ani difranco, catie curtis, vonda shepard, janis ian, kristen hall,
and ferron.  i believe there are about 7 others, not so well known artists.
anyways, the name of it is women's work.  ill try to dig up the website for
any who wants it, but im sure you can order it at any local music store.
vonda and kristen's songs are exceptional!  of course it's not totally
complete without our two favorite ladies, but nonetheless, beautiful music!
there is a nice paragraph write up for each artist, too!
good day all,
trooper
