hey y'all,

shame on you aussies! i'm on digest so i thought i'd wait because i
thought surely someone else would have posted this already.

a few days ago, maybe wednesday, there was an interview with sarah
mclachlan on e news (the australian version) regarding the upcoming lilith
tour to oz (we're getting liltih for sure - sarah said so :)) yay!)

they showed a clip of water is wide and then they panned across the stage
and there were our girls. it was only very brief, a few seconds and it was
quite dark - but it was good to see them - especially on australian tv -
where we hardly see them at all. damn i wish i'd been taping.

as for lilith fair in australia - i think they said it would be on in
december of this year. and that sarah would be coming and kylie minogue
(???) sorry but i don't imagine her as lilith material. to meet the aussie
artist quota it would be more appropriate to include girls like the velvet
janes, tiddas, dianna ah niad, bluehouse, maybe marie wilson. but kylie
the princess of pop?? its bad enough that dannii minogue is the official gay
and lesbian mardi gras artist (sure the gay guys go loopy over them, but
they are neither lesbian or bi..but this is another issue and not relevant
to this rant)

they didn't mention whether the girls would be included in the aussie
lilith. anyone have any suggestions who should tour to aust and europe -
are you guys getting it soon??

touring:
lilith fair festival dates are confirmed for atlanta on july 24th as well as
august 19-31. the august run includes chicago, toronto, milwaukee,
minneapolis, and denver, wrapping up in edmonton on august 31. also, we are
confirming the newport folk festival on august 8th.

since no one else has come forward yet, i guess i'll have to do it. =)
(i'm not good at writing reviews, so bear with me!)

the rumors were true.  indigo girls were indeed the "special guests" at the
rock down to earth benefit concert saturday night, in atlanta at the variety
playhouse.   they played all new material (with the exception of galileo),
and it was a great show.   unfortunately, i don't think the people really
believed the rumor, as attendance was pretty light.   not too good - since it
was a benefit.  but towards the end of the night, more people did come in.

they played the following songs:
galileo - you can tell it's been a while since they played it, when emily
forgets her lines! =)
gone again
hey andy (????) - new "very very sad" song by emily.  about a girl who loves
a farmer, who loves another girl.    emily played a new instrument on this
song - a bazooki mandolin.
sister - new version - with some *very* cool vocals from emily (and i didn't
think this song could get any better! =)
cold beer and remote control - amy introduced this new emily song as a
"working man's song" (i love this song!!!!!!!!!!)
(????) - new song by amy - very folky, country sounding.    she played it
solo on the mandolin.
go -  a huge crowd favorite

other artists that performed at the benefit include belloluna (always so much
fun to see!!), and phbalance (also a lot of fun to experience live).
