hey ya'll,

i was at a conference of aaa radio programmers over the past few days.  one
of the events yesterday was a rating and discussion of various songs.  (would
you play this song on your station - light, medium, or heavy rotation?  what
do you like/not like about it?  why does it or does it not fit your
format/target audience?)

one of the songs was peace train, the new emily penned single.

of the 12 songs that were "on the griddle," they ranked in a tie for the
second highest rating, and that was *without* most people (myself included,
i'm embarrassed to say) knowing it was ig.

as for release, the guy from epic said that they still weren't sure of a
release date.

years, i've also amassed some ig promo cd's.  i've decided to auction them
off because i'm not really sure how much they're worth.  here's the list:

is going for at that point.  you can also e-mail me if you want, and i'll
tell you how much each cd is going for at any time.  on august 29, i'll
e-mail the highest bidders, they can mail me cash or a check, and i'll mail
the cd.  all bids include postage.  e-mail me with any comments or questions.

i've been on the indigo girls list for about 3 years now, and over the
years, i've accumulated more boots than i know what to do with.  there was
a time when i was listening to them all the time, but now they mostly sit
in my room.  since i'm a college student and don't really have a lot of
money right now, i've decided that it's time for me to get rid of most of
my boots.  if i had lots of money, i would gladly give them to people for
free, but i don't, so i've decided to sell them.  i'm asking $4 for the
tapes and $10 for the videos, which i figure is about what they cost me in
the first place ($2 for the tape & padded mailer, $1 for postage there & $1
for postage back, and $4 for the video & padded mailer, $3 for postage
there & $3 for postage back).  i'll pay postage to mail the boots to you.
if you are starving student like me, and would still like a boot, e-mail
me, and we can work something out.  if you heavily object to selling boots
(even though i'm not making a profit) & want to mail me a blank tape in
exchange, i'll accept that too, but i prefer money.  if you buy five boots,
i'll give you a free one.  i'm also holding an auction to get rid of some
cd's, but i'll write about that in a separate e-mail.

so here's the deal...if you want one or more tapes or videos, send me an
e-mail with "boots boots boots" in the subject line and tell me which ones
you want.  it's first come, first served.  i'll give you my snail mail
address, and you can mail me cash or a check, and i'll mail the tapes or
videos to you.  i would love to mail you the boots first, but i've been
screwed over one too many times by people on this list (sad, but true, and
in the worst one, i laid out $85 for someone for tickets, & she never paid
me), so i have to ask for the money first.  if you don't trust me, ask
anyone on this list who's been around long enough, and they'll tell you
that i'm a good trader.  how do you think i got all these boots in the
first place anyway? :)

i also have a few extra things that i'll give for free to the person that
buys the most stuff from me as an extra thank you.  i have a rites of
passage poster that i will give away, and rose polenzani's fabulous cd,
anybody, that has a small scratch which causes the song "olga's birthday"
to skip.  i ended up getting another cd from daemon, so i'll give this one
away.  i also have some pictures i took at the newport folk fest.  they're
not the greatest, but i'll mail pictures to the first five people who send
me their orders.  i also am keeping these great boots:

in this list of the boots i want to get rid of, the ig boots come first,
and they're in date order (undated ones come first), for the most part.
after the ig ones, i have some michelle malone, dar williams, ani difranco,
rent, and melissa ferrick boots listed too.  all boots vary in quality, and
most are on high-bias tapes.  feel free to e-mail me and ask about quality,
and i'll let you know how a specific boot sounds.  i'm sorry that i don't

of these artists are pretty cool about people booting their shows, as long
as no one makes a profit.  dar asks boot traders to make a contribution to
the "snowden environmental trust," the non-profit foundation that she set
up.  the purpose of the set is to donate money to worthwhile environmental
organizations, in particular, those who are working to preserve land and
help wildlife habitat.  so if you want dar boots from me, please make a
contribution to this charity as well.

this is an opportunity for *all newbies* to get free ig boots and begin
building a bootlist.  and for some not-so-newbies to fill in their '99
bootlist.  all you have to do is email one of the dubbers listed below and
ask for a copy of any of the boots listed above.  you will receive
confirmation and directions for sending your sase (self addressed stamped
envelope) so the blank tapes you send will be returned to you with the show.
each tape also gets a liner listing the titles of all the cuts.  if you don't
get one, holler :)

please try to send good quality tapes to the dubbers and try to be patient.
we try to please :)
