many of you know the indigo girls will be in town this friday to play
bumbershoot but i also heard on the radio today that they will be doing an
in studio appearance on the mountain (kmtt 103.7 fm). this usually means a
live performance - probably a new song.

"...the oct. 9th date at suny has been cancelled. another show in the area
will be scheduled soon."

also, the 10/8/99 show in dc at the patriot center is onsale today!  tickets
go onsale in one hour at 10:00am.  the number is (703)573-seat and this
information can be found via my site (sig) or on ticketmaster.  go, go, go!

found this article on allstar. i've been naughty and haven't been able to
keep up with list mail, so i hope this hasn't been posted already. i guess
this article confirms that peace tonight is the new single.

here's the article:

indigo girls set brief fall tour in support of social
sep 1, 1999, 7:45 am pt

indigo girls
fresh off a full-time stint on this year's lilith fair tour, the indigo
girls won't waste much time before getting out on the road in support of
their forthcoming album come on now social.

the folk duo will play seattle's bumbershoot festival on sept. 3, take the
next three weeks off, then hit the road again sept. 23 in chattanooga, tenn.
the girls will then carry on around the south and the east coast through an
oct. 22 date with students at the university of georgia in athens, ga.

meanwhile, come on now social is set for a sept. 28 release on epic records.
the album's first single, "peace tonight," featuring guest vocals by joan
osborne (allstar, aug. 3), will hit radio sept. 21. other guests on the
eclectic offering include luscious jackson drummer kate shellenbach, natacha
atlas, me'shell ndegeocello, and sheryl crow.

oh, some nigc, any budding guitarists and ani fans (like myself) might be
pleased to know that ani's new songbook for little plastic castle has
finally been released. apparently it contains full guitar tab for the
songs! you can find it for sale at sheet music plus.

okay.  the moment you have waited for.  start making offers for this
ticket.  i need at least $32.00 to cover the actual cost.  i want anyone
who wishes to buy this ticket to make offers of the $ plus any boots,promo
items etcetera they can come up with.

reasoning for this is more than a few people have responded to this and i
never anticipated such a response.  this is the only fair way i can come up
with to "auction" off the ticket without having folks pay actual money.

so it's like this............whomever can come up with the best present for
me in addition to the $32, the ticket which i waited from 6:45 a.m. in the
morning until 10 is yours.  i will let the winning "bidder" know tuesday
after labor day via e-mail.

this is an extra good seat.  this is the first year they are actually
letting people in the orchestra pit.  this is not conventional 2nd row, but
only the 1st row a few feet in front of you between emily and amy on stage.

i have got 4 tickets to the 9/24 concert in nashville, tn that i am
going to be unable to use. they are in section 101, rows h & i, seats
1-2. i paid $39.00 per ticket plus ticketmaster fees of $6.00 per
ticket.

ok - after considering various points (mostly made by jen mcqueen ---
thanks...), i've just made a couple of refinements to the idea of a
listmeet for
the new album...

1. the album is released in the uk on october 4th (a week after the usa
release)
- - i checked at hmv this morning. this would, of course be a work day, so we
could possibly do this meet the weekend after the album is released (i
know, it
takes away some of the point of the whole thing, but if we're going to do
this,
it's one of the only easy ways we could do it, without messing up everybody's
schedule)

2. as far as a record store to meet - we don't have to meet in
london!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (sorry for the overuse of exclamation marks, but i
just emphasise that tiny little fact : ) )probably the easiest way we could
pick a record store to meet at is, when we know all the people that are
coming,
we just pick the nearest large city for everybody, and meet there to buy the
album.

ok - post any views on this to me on private, and we'll set to work on it...
