there's a nice little review of cons in the december issue of curve
(which also happens to have melissa etheridge on the cover for those
interested). it's very short, but favorable, and includes a small
version of one of the promotional pictures as well. text is below:

come on now social

another album, another journey down the passionate and spiritually
charged road the indigo girls continue to craft.  stuffed full of the
special version of down-home finger lickin' good folk, come on now
social is nothing less than magnificent.  ethereal it is, with songs
like opener "go" abd "sister" which exemplify the brimming bellows and
angst of amy ray.  emily saliers' thoughtful lyrics and provacative
guitar picking are omnipresent, especially on such songs as "we are
together":  "the girl's known trouble the wind's to blame/it blew her
to nay town usa.... and where we go remains nameless/a motion picture

some people were asking about stickers.  my friend lynn had some 'ig' ones
made - you know, the little oval kind like the obx ones for 'outer banks'
and 'mv' ones for martha's vineyard?  they're cool.  i can't remember how
much they cost, but i think she's selling them for only a little over cost -
like a buck or two per sticker.  email her, not me for details or to buy one

hey ya'll,

just back from the dayton show--it was a rainy drive home to columbus, hmm,
kinda like amy's "sister" story...but in a station wagon. lol  anyway, fun
show.  we lucked out and were able to pay a bit more and upgrade our 8th
row to 2nd row amy's side.  it was a much smaller venue than either the
columbus or michigan shows--very cool.  set list--now this is off their
written version, there were some changes, so someone needs to help me out:

go/trouble/chickenman/ cold beer/land of canaan (was something else
substituted here?)/least complicated/sister (again, i don't remember them
actually playing sister, what was here???)/peace tonight/this
train/ctf/oziline/andy/?? (these were on set list)/airplane/faye
tucker/gotm/soy/ encore: wood song (va woolf is written, but they
substituted due to a big sign from the balcony :)/galileo

girls were smiley again.  amy especially.  they said there were a ton of
signs and requests that weren't on their list.  folks were yelling requests
at the beginning of faye t, & amy stopped, laughed and said "ah, all these
requests, i'm feeling very inadequate."  someone brought cookies again and
amy said the cookie retrieving was her job.  she went and got the tin, the
girl jumped on stage and security jumped the girl in a big way and started
dragging her out of the venue.  amy was *not* happy.  both a & e said
something and (i think) had them stop.  then they tried to lighten things
up by telling the story of one of their past concerts where someone was
arrested for standing.  amy said they went and bailed her out afterward.
music highlight for me was airplane, which they did w/the band out front.
very, very cool harmonies--and i usually calls airplane my least fav song!
my personal highlight--i made another sign for blair, this time it said
"blair still rocks."  he started cracking up and sent his drum tech out
afterward to ask for it.  i gave it to him and he gave me a drumstick and a
signed set list that says "thanks for the sign, love blair."  very cool.
ok, that wasn't the most informative review but i'm tired and i still have
to pack for my flight home in the morning!  have a great holiday everybody!

the listmeet plans for thursday & friday are the following: after each
show, we will all meet at the latitudes lounge in the omni hotel (in the cnn
center). this lounge is open until 2am plus it's just a few blocks away
from the tabernacle.

it might be a bit of a fancy-schmancy kind of a place - but since fellow
listee cathy will have a room at the hotel, then we pretty much will own the
place and can sing whatever renditions we would like. it's so close to the
tabernacle that in the least it will be a good place to meet up.

the omni hotel at cnn center. coffee bar and pastry shop in the mornings,
cocktails and more in the evening. 404/818-4452"

any questions, feel free to e-mail me up until 5pm tomorrow. and i have a

omni hotel - so check that out too. two days left!!! (my picks: r&j and
little darlin' - there's always hope)
