some highlights off the top of my head....
emily wants socks and a birdwatching kit for christmas, amy wants
books.
emily has 3 cats, amy has 7!
their consistently favorite venue? berkeley's greek theatre.
i asked: emily, in the song "trouble," what does "grow a peaceful
crop" refer to?
she answered: it has to do with genetically engineered crops, things
that are unhealthy for people. it has to do with nafta and when
nations like mexico end up having to import corn rather than subsist
on their own food production. the inequity of that. and how food
will once again, hopefully, be equitable and peaceful ultimately. and
it's also a general reference to sowing the seeds and creating peace.
it's a metaphor as well. and ultimately producing peace. and i use
the crop, obviously, to complete the metaphor.
so now we have our answer to that question, which was a lengthy thread
here a while back. as i remember, people interpreted "grow a peaceful
crop" to mean everything from legalizing marijuana to raising children
in a more peaceful world.

hey folks,
heads-up to australians (just in case anyone's a bit
out of it as i seem to be) - tickets for most of the
ig shows seem to already be on sale. canberra,
sydney, melbourne, brisbane and perth are all onsale
now - i don't know about adelaide but it wouldn't
surprise me if that were onsale too...
