hey...
so, today the crazy cool ideas person inside of me is saying "wouldn't it be
cool to host a jennifer kimball house concert?"
and the (very small but loud) rational part of my brain is saying "but on a
monday night? what if no-one comes?"
so i ask y'all, how many would consider spending one monday evening soon
(march 20th), chez andi and neil, listening to the mellow acoustic folk
styings of ms. jennifer kimball (one half of the wonderful band the story)??
there isn't any obligation on your part, but i'd like to get an idea of how
many listfolks (if any) we might expect so we can see if our costs'll be
covered or not. we're talking maybe $10 for a ticket here...
and, if anyone's expecting an email reply from me, a trade, an
acknowledgement of gifts received, whatever, and thinks i've been slack
about responding, please, as always, feel free to kick my butt into
responding :o(

wow. poor amy. that has got to suck.
i really give her heaps of credit for playing at hob on friday. i know when i'm sick, i can barely get out of bed. and she must have been feeling just awful that night.
i do hope they make australia at some point cause i know how much the girls love australia (and i agree with them, it is a great place! i wish i were still there).
anyway...procrastinating. not good. need to work on the senior thesis...

mime-version: 1.0

speaking of boot offers, princess jude and i would like to offer the
following cd's up to the list. we've been working on these for a while, and
(i) have finally gotten all the info together. thanks to jude for her
patience, as always =)
the first cd that we are offering is a combination of the two recent acoustic
cafe's. all of the songs are live, acoustic performances. set list
follows:
january 24, 2000 - go, cold beer & remote control, peace tonight, ozilline,
dead man's hill
august 25, 1998 - gone again, it's alright, galileo, go
the second offer is a 2-cd set. this is the recording from the 10/30/99 las
vegas house of blues show. this was digitally recorded from the broadcast
of the performance. set list:
go, trouble, reunion, get out the map, sister, peace tonight, three hits,
soon to be nothing, ozilline, closer to fine, shed your skin, cold beer &
remote control, compromise, airplane, faye tucker, power of two, shame on
you, or (w/rose polenzani), gone again, galileo
to get one or all of the above cd's, please follow the instructions below.
if you were born in the month of january through june, please email:
memememi@aol.com (lisa)
if you were born in the month of july through december, please email:
hunterj1@aol.com (jude)
we just ask the following: please do not sell the cd's. these were made by
fans for fans.
you may send one or three blank cd-r's to the person mentioned above, along
with a sase, and we will copy the cds and send back to you. please note
that due to the high cost of color ink, we have also decided to follow tara's
lead on one matter. if you would like a full-color liner for your cds, we
ask for $2.00 contribution to cover the cost of ink for all three cd's. if
you only want one of the cd's offered, just send $1.00. if you don't want a
liner, that's fine by us as well. it's definitely up to you. there will
be no profit from this money collected. all money will go toward ink costs,
and future cd offers to the list.
please email either lisa (memememi@aol.com) or jude (hunterj1@aol.com) with
any questions.
=)

subject: new ig rock posters for sale
x-cc: ahorn@tscnet.com, lmschrei@collins.rockwell.com
mime-version: 1.0
content-type: text/plain
content-transfer-encoding: 7bit
hi everyone,
many of you who collect "all things indigo" (and even those of
you who love ig and want something cool on their wall) will be very
happy to check out the following website:
http://www.visualgallery.com/indigogirls.html
at this website, you will find rock poster art of our beloved
indigo girls. i posted to the ig list late last year to gauge
your interest in buying an indigo girls poster drawn by a
rock poster artist. well, your response was great and
probably the reason why two posters have now come available.
check out the entire website of the visual gallery; you'll find that
the company (nw intermark) deals in a lot of very cool rock poster
art by very talented artists. like the indigo girls poster,
many posters are in limited supply, signed, and numbered. they
are very unique collectors items.
the following indigo girls posters are available:
concert poster: 12/10/99, ypsilanti, mi
artist: mark arminksi
limited edition of 50 copies
size: 12" x 22"
price: $29
concert poster: champoeg state park, 7/9-10/97
artists: gary houston & mike king (a.k.a voodoo catbox)
signed and numbered, limited edition of 125 copies
size: 14" x 21"
price: $79
personally, i can attest to the quality of the posters. i
purchased a women of rock poster last year and found
that it is beautifully, artistically done and printed on quality
(heavy) poster board. it was well worth the $25 cost, especially
since part of the price goes to charity. this poster
is available too on the website i mentioned above. here's the
info on that one:
1998 charity poster: women of rock
artist: bob masse
signed and numbered, limited edition of 500 copies
(beautiful poster featuring names like ig, me, and ani)
size: 15" x 26"
price: $25
shipping charges apply, but are reasonable....normal
flat rate shipping for a poster tube is $6.00.
framing these posters is definitely recommended, since they are
beautiful works of art and may very well be worth a lot more
someday. that makes them even more cool, especially for collectors.
someone, please forward this on to the news-only list if it's applicable.
i'm not sure of the rules, and i don't know the address. thanks!
thanks for reading!
lisa

after 32 years of being a lesbian, i am discovering that as much as i
change, so does the definition of being an lesbian. who are we to judge
what is truly a lesbian? as a collective body, we are the sum of its parts.
i agree with you nan. no flame thrower here.
and i also enjoy hearing the other side of those who don't have the same
opinion as myself on the indigo girls etc. some listee (sorry i can't
remember your name) said he wishes he had this type of discussion with

hey folks,
it looks as though the australian tour has been postponed
until may. i just got a call from the canberra ticketing
agency who advised me that i could elect to either send my
ticket back for a refund, or hold on to it and use it when
the show is rescheduled. (in the interests of getting a
better seat i may get a refund then buy another when they
go onsale again). he didn't know when in may that would be.
here's hoping that when the guy said he was almost certain
that the tour was postponed not cancelled he was right -
the promoters wouldn't/couldn't tell me either way earlier
today...

since even though this is the station that sponsored their tour stop in st.
louis in december, you hear scant little ig on their airwaves. but i had to
laugh when the dj said something like "this doesn't sound like the
ig...that song rocked." um, yeah...land of canaan and pushing the needle
too far and chickenman and how many of their other wonderful songs just
don't rock at all, do they?!
everyone have a good night and my heartfelt get-well wishes to amy,

just to let you all know that hbo will most likely release this on video a
few months from now. they have a habit of doing that will their original
movies. they did this for the first if these walls could talk, and i
don't see why they wouldn't do it for the second one, especially if
someone like sharon stone is in it, you know?
i know it's hard to wait, but there's hope. :)

hkf's,
the below taken from the news section & also the tour section of the
official site. get well amy!!!
amy ray update
well folks, it's true. amy ray had an appendectomy over the weekend. during
the surgery they discovered an ovarian cyst, so they took that out, as well.
she is in the hospital and doing fine. if you'd like to leave a message for
her, you can do so on the bbs. you can also send cards to russell carter
artist management, 315 ponce de leon ste 755, decatur, ga 30030. amy has
requested no gifts, flowers or phone calls.
and now for australia. unfortunately, the march australia tour dates must be
postponed. there is a possibility that the rescheduling will occur in may,
but nothing is confirmed at this time.
on a good note, more tour dates for april have been announced! check them
out in the tour section.

well, i've only lived 1 and a half years as a gay man, but i guess one thing
i've learnt is that the differences within the gay community only make us
stronger. if everybody thought and acted the same, we would probably be even
more fragile, and wouldn't be able to fight for our rights in the way that we
do.
just my 0.02,

hey, all-
i'm new to the list, but was wondering about a couple of things.
1.) does anyone have a boot from either the saratoga springs, ny show in
august or the franklin and marshall college show this past week? i would be
most grateful for a copy of both or either.
2.) does anyone have or know where to obtain the pre-epic recordings of the
girls (ie: blue food)? i am very curious to hear these recordings, so any
help would be most appreciated!!!!
have a great evening and sweet indigo dreams to you all.
peace,

so there have been a lot of questions in regards to the early
recordings. i know people out there have offered them before via a tree
or other such distribution mechanism, but i guess i'm going to open
myself up to a lot of emails if i do this, but i have all the early
