happy friday!  just wanted to pass along a recommendation to all to check
out the backstage interview conducted in seattle a few weeks ago.  i just
spent part of my lunch hour taking advantage of the t1 line here at work
and was happy to hear some new questions (and the answers!)  i even think
there may have been an question from an ig listee asked...  (mandy, if that
was indeed yours - i loved their answers!).  go to the www.indigogirls.com
site and you will find the link to the ra interview on the news page.

so, i just got back from a day in lovely santa cruz, or aptos, more
precisely. wow. i don't know how this happened, but we ended up in the
front row. almost dead center. the front row. wow.

i'm sure someone will post a play-by-play of the actual concert, but
here's the setlist:

ozillene
peace tonight
3 hits
trouble
tried to be true
wood song
sister
least complicated
go
virginia woolf
gone again
cold beer
faye tucker
get out the map
shed your skin
soon be to nothing
shame on you
closer to fine
kid fears
galileo

a great set list. since this was their last night with the band, they
said they let the band pick the songs. wow. a highlight - best version
of sister ever. another highlight, amy saying, "you guys are so great
that i'm smiling too much. it's making my head hurt!"

[...]

love,
amy

[...] here's the setlist
- - i'm not sure of the precise order other than the first few songs and the
encore, but i think it's close. somebody please correct me if i missed
something.

ozilline
trouble
three hits (with brief intro about frank stanford - this was performed
full-band, which was interesting because earlier in the summer they
   were playing it acoustic)
least complicated
compromise
virginia woolf
gone again
soon be to nothing
shed your skin (with mrs. fun)
closer to fine
shame on you
power of two
baby don't you break my heart slow (directly followed by vonda's own song,
which was just her and her guitarist)
ghost
faye tucker (which kicked ass... i think amy had been reading the news
that day, because she opened it by saying "this one goes out to
governor bush" and she sounded angrier than i've ever heard)
get out the map (with vonda shepard)
go
***
derek trucks song with rick the bus driver
galileo

derek trucks, btw, has a website at (surprise
surprise) derektrucks.com - i couldn't get it to load successfully beyond
the main page so i wasn;t able to track down the specific song and figure
out the title, but there's the link for anyone interested.

        mandy
        on t osanta cruz...

                this world falls on me
                with dreams of immortality
                everywhere i turn
all the beauty just keeps shaking me

hey  all..

[...]

anyway, setlist transcribed from my tape of the show...
peace tonight
ozilline
least complicated
faye tucker
andy
gone again
closer to fine
sister
get out the map (vonda came out and sang back up)
chickenman - with a small song right before the "i went looking for a girl.."
bit - something about traveling
vonda and em: baby don't you break my heart slow
vonda solo: i'm not familiar with vonda's  stuff but this was a really nice
song with lots of la la la la la's (anyone know the name?)
go
power of two
kid fears
trouble
scooter boys
virginia woolf
shame on you
- ---
encore: mystery :)
two songs with butchies:
laramie
mountains of glory (maybe??)
galileo

anyway, it totally rocked.. i loved laramie and the other song was good too,
although there were more instruments than vocals on those two songs, so the
tape is a little hard to make out lyrics from, so if anyone has lyrics to
laramie can you post em? i can make out the bit "hey all you drunkards,
hunting season's over" though :)

anyway, they played for about 2 solid hours and seemed pretty happy :) amy
smiled a lot :)
