i have 5 tickets for the ig show at wolf trap on 8/7.  if you have never been to wolf trap, it's an amazing place; nearly every performer i see there comments on how wonderful it is to play in that natural setting.  and don't let the esthetics fool you -- the sound there is great too.

i am asking face value for the tickets, $32, no service charges.  there are no other seats for 4 or 5 together left in the front orchestra, but i will sell in smaller quantities of no one wants that many.  the seats are in row t, seats 22-26.

hi folks--i am a mostly-lurker on the list, & i apologize for sending

course!). my so is moving to nyc fr. chicago w/in 2 weeks. he has two
rabbits he needs to find a good home for before then. we've found a
shelter which will take them if need be, but we'd rather them go to a
loving home. if anyone knows of anyone in the chicago area who might
be interested, please contact me (privately!)! thanks!! there's some
info about the rabbits below.

johanna

http://free.freespeech.org/sugoi

<<they are two house rabbits:

o phaedra        - eight year old neutered male mini-lop
o sir toby belch - seven year old neutered male jersey wooley

i've had them since they were babies.

they would come with their cage and water bottles and whatever food
and litter i currently have.  they both use their litter box when in
the cage.  toby will pee in corners if left unattended, but phae will
always use the box.

to be happy they need a place where they can run around out of their
cage at least a little bit each day on carpet or some other soft
surface
[they hate hardwood floors].

they aren't the sharpest examples of rabbitdom, but they're good
blokes;
friendly in their way, although neither likes being held much [toby
will
tolerate it].

thanks!>>

does anyone know the setlist for this show?  i checked out lifeblood but is
wasn't listed.  just wondering if they've started performing songs for the
new album yet.  i love seeing them in that stage of touring, practicing new
songs before going into the studio.

btw, saw michelle malone last night - she rocks!!  got the new album - it's
growing on me :-)

peace,
joey

hi!

about the pictures in question, yes, amy was wearing a *red* star trek
tee. she's worn that at other concerts too in the last few years. i
can't remember which ones, though.... i just know i've seen it before.

i agree that the picture quality isn't the best. i'm really mad at wolf
camera. they put all my pictures on a cd when i developed the rolls,
but the colors and contrast are really off. i had some awesome pictures
from the turner south thing, but the contrast on the photo cd is so off
you can't see anyone's faces. i just need to find time to scan
everything.

*rolling eyes*

sick of working your ass off only to feel unappreciated and invisible?
want to be heard by more than the bartender and the door guy?
overwhelmed by promotional costs and marketing tasks?
you're not alone.

sbs records cd sampler
for over 15 years, i have cultivated an incredibly loyal fan base of music
lovers, and i would like to share the wealth with you. i can help you expand
your audience  by releasing your "single" to a music loving fan base of over
15,000 people!

the sbs records cd sampler is a professional service that allows you to
showcase your music in an effective manner and to get your music to people
who actually want to hear it. i'll place your song on the sampler cd, along
with your web address, and distribute the cd's to the sbs records fanbase.
i'll also make sure that the cd's are never sold but instead traded among all
of our fans - this strategy alone could double or triple the number of people
that hear your song. this is the most cost-effective way available for any
artist to make new fans - cheaper than placing an ad in a weekly paper,
cheaper than making your own cd's and giving them away!  here's the best
part: your cost to be included on this cd sampler is only $275!

submissions are being accepted now
you can apply immediately by sending your cd/ cd single/ dat (if there is
more than one song on your recording, please specify which song you would
like considered. important: all entries must be no longer than 4 minutes!)
do not send money; your music must be reviewed first.

deadline for entries is august 15, 2001.
send your music to:
sbs records
p.o.box 3092
decatur, ga 30031
attn: sampler

i will contact you if your song is chosen for the sampler.
serious inquiries only please. artists retain all publishing rights and
ownership.
the sbs records sampler is a professional service and is not sold anywhere.

sorry everyone in my excitement i forgot to add that it is in fact the
lowell auditorium, in lowell, ma, you can call the box office, but there is
no recorded info, wait to talk to an operator, the # is (978)454-2299. the
guy i spoke w/ told me tix will be available at the auditorium box office or
through "other" tix selling facilities, i am assuming that he was referring
to "stickit- master"! also, although i did not see it myself, there was an ad
in last nights lowell sun, which i am pretty sure you can look up on-line.
hope that helps, and sorry for the confusion....take care all,
                                                    janet

p.s. i also heard the tix prices range from $56.00 - $90.00

hi all,

sorry for the nigc

st. louis people a friend of mine was asked to be in a small film and the
guy making the film is looking for more people.  it is a small film and does
not pay, but it may be an opportunity for someone.  he is going to try to
enter it into the pride festival and the st. louis film festival.

here is a brief summary of what the film is about.

it is about relationship between two particular couples, one is a lesbian
couple, the other couple is a heterosexual couple.  the story shows
similarities between the two relationships and there are other characters
that pop in and out of the story.

that is super brief, but if you think you are interested at all, email me
and i will give you more info.  don't want to clog list space.

again, sorry about the nigc

traci

here i am adding to the indigo-girls list that lately
has for nigc than igc . . .

i'm moving to lawrence, kansas next week, (from
atlanta) and wondered if any listee knew much about
the local music scene.  i know i've been spoiled in
atlanta, but lawrence is bound to have some good
bands.  if anyone has any suggestions for good venues
or artists, let me know.

thanks,
:-)carrie

just wondering if their are any upcoming tv items which the girls are
scheduled to be on or the possibility of them adding a few more southwest
locations on their tour schedule?

subject:      gripe about ticket pre-sales (long)
mime-version: 1.0
content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

i'm starting to get a little worried about the current trend of special
ticket "pre-sales" for certain groups of people. i've seen so many of
these crop up lately; both for the indigo girls, and for other artists.

the mountain winery shows are one example. a local station sent out
announcements (and the special code) to everyone on their listener list
(something you had to sign up for). so, only people who signed up for
kfog emails knew about the presale. but, even before that, people who
were mountain winery special members (paying $1,000 per year for that
honor) were able to buy tickets for whatever concerts they wanted,
about a month before the kfog presale. this presale wasn't even
announced on the indigo girls site officially, although i posted it
here as soon as i heard.

the sf chronicle also had a recent promotion where new subscribers to
the newspaper got to buy tickets early for some other concert.

the fillmore (sf) tickets that went on "pre-sale" this morning are
another example. in order to get them, you have to go through
ticketmaster, which means that your already expensive $38.50 ticket
ends up costing $48 after all the "convenience" charges if you don't
want to risk there not being tickets left on sunday's general sale.

in each of these cases, people who were willing to pay a little more
for some service, or sign up on certain email lists, were able to get
better tickets than "the general public." isn't that a form of
scalping? my other problem with each of these situation is that it
forces the early buyer to buy through ticketmaster.com, thus paying an
extra $10/ticket in "convenience" charges, and also excluding the fan
who may not have internet access, or who doesn't want to sign up for a
bunch of newsletters/spam.

i ended up being in that position for a counting crows show about a
year ago. their website allows "pre-sales" through ticketmaster at
certain set points in time. i didn't know about that, so i spent three
hours in the rain outside the tower records in sf in an attempt to get
good seats. i was towards the front of the line after the lottery, but
even so, the only seats left were in the last three rows of the top
balcony. only about ten people after me even got seats at all. kinda
stank.

granted, i've gotten some great seats through presales, so i guess that
makes me a hypocrite, but i'd much rather just queue in line at the
fillmore on sunday morning when the tickets go onsale, and buy mine for
$38.50 instead of $48.

i can understand that in theory, "pre-sales" allow the "true fans" to
get access to the tickets, and maybe, cuts down on the amount of
scalpers who buy up the "good" seats. but is it really working? should
you have to sign up with every radio station and every website to hear
about them? i guess i'm just used to the time when all you had to do
was get up early and wait in line, hoping for a good lottery ticket.
maybe this simplifies things, but it still seems odd (and unfair) to me
that in order to get decent seats (or tickets at all) you have to pay
more or sign up for stuff you don't want or both.

one exception (sort of) was the amy ray concert at slim's. instead of
buying a "paper" ticket through ticketmaster, you could sign up for the
"guest list" at virtuous.com. there was no convenience charge, but once
you got to slim's, you had to wait in a separate line to pick up your
"virtuous" ticket, then go wait in another line to get in at all. if
you went "stag" (sorry, i couldn't resist), by the time you got your
ticket, they were already letting people in, so you ended up with a
pretty crappy place compared to the people who had paid more for
ticketmaster tickets.

i guess it's really no different than charging more for the closer
seats... but i still feel weird about this trend...

*shrug*

any thoughts?

back around the time the girls were on the food network for rock n' wrap it
up, someone posted a very helpful website where you could look up your
favorite artists and it would show any upcoming tv appearences, what station
to check for, times, etc.  does anyone still have that website?
peace,
joey

michelle, which naturally was a sellout, but i don't know how she does
solo...how early do i need to get there?  according to her website she's
playing just after me at pride on saturday!
