recently, someone asked rosie about her sexuality,
and was quoted as saying "yeah, i'm gay!"

as for jodie foster, her brother barry (who was
also a former child star like jodie) wrote a
book about his family called foster child.

in that book, he talked in great detail about
jodie's bisexual relationships. he also talked
lovingly about the relatives who raised them, one of
whom was a without a doubt a lesbian.

        hey folksters-
this is sort of on-topic, because it's about michelle malone. sort
of. anyway, her label's creating a sampler cd and encouraging submissions
from everybody and her dog. i know a lot of you listen to michelle malone
and are on her list already, but many folks are not, including (i'm
certain) some of the musician types out there. it's free to apply, so give
it a shot, y'all, and good luck.

mime-version: 1.0

i've recently realized that taking off 3 more days of work to see two
more ig concerts when i'm already seeing too many is probably insane,
and my pocketbook can't afford it, so i'm selling my two tickets to the
two san diego shows. (i have one ticket for each show)

on the monday show, it's a 12th row center ticket.

here's the kicker:
on the tuesday show, it's front row center.

(and yes, this is killing me to give this up...)

i'm just asking face value for this, which i think was somewhere around
$40 for each ticket. i can get the exact number.

i'm offering the front row seat to the first kind soul on digest mode
to respond. (i'm on digest and it's hard to be first at anything!)
the 12th row seat is open to everyone.

anyhow, let me know asap if you want these, ok?

thanks -
amy

amy wrote a article in the june issue of performing songwriter (their annual "salute to independents") called "independence and activism."  there is also an interview with jerry marotta about his production work on indie cds.

you can read the table of contents and a preview of amy's article at <http://performingsongwriter.com/>.  if you like what you see, buy it for $5 (incl. shipping) from the "current issue" link on the "subscribe" page.  it's a great mag, well worth supporting, as you will likely see by browsing the web site.  daemon was featured in their last indie issue.

hey,

i just picked up the new cd "stay human" from michael franti & spearhead.
[it's excellent, by the way.]  the whole thing is a concept album wrapped around
an anti-death penalty message.

in the liner notes there are quotes from various musicians and activitsts.
amy is one of the people quoted:

"the death penaly sucks.  it's absolutely barbaric.  it's wrong, period.  it's
proven not to deter murder, it's racially and socio-economically biased, and
it's cruel."

don't know if she was the inspiration for it, but it's probably not a
coincidence that amy's quote is on the same page as the lyrics for the song "do
ya love" (with it's chorus: "it ain't about who ya love/it's all about do ya
love")

amy and michael probably first met on that spitfire speaking tour a few years
back.  spearhead later opened for indigo girls at beginning of the come on now
social tour.

okay, i was listening to live365.com and there was a song that came on that

guy who didn't pay her much because she didn't flirt.  anyway, if anyone can
give me info on who that is or the name of the song i would really
appreciate it.
thanks so much!

i don't know how anyone who doesn't know her personally can say definitively, "yeah, she's gay, but not publicly."  but to discourage others who might be so inclined, i have a friend who knew her well, and at that time at least (a few years ago), paula did indeed live the asexual life that she jokes about in concert.

but perhaps sarah slept with her more recently than my friend last spoke with her. :-)

of course, none of this has any bearing on the case.  apparently her adopted children made the charges, and if you start believing celebrities over kids because you can't believe they'd do it... well, many, maybe most, child abusers are people that would never be suspected of abuse.  i certainly hope it's not true, but i'm not going to make any assumptions one way or the other.
