hey all -

indiegrrl showcase at club passim
featuring: sam shaber / allette brooks / rachael davis / holly figueroa
cambridge, ma
info: indiegrrl show!
www.clubpassim.com <http://www.clubpassim.com/>
i have never heard rachel davis and i think i've only heard one holly f.
song... but allette and sam are both wonderful. allette is great live - part
of allette's charm is her quirkiness and you don't hear enough of that on her
studio recordings. sam is also terrific - very chatty and funny. if you're
near boston please get out of the house and support indie music :)

nbot that any of you recall of care about my rather blistering review of
melissa's chicago performance, but i have to say i think i sort of take back
what i said. well, most of it. i'm trying to decide why i liked her milwaukee
show so much better (i just saw her tonight) i mean, a lot of it was still
unbelieveably corny. ithink i liked it because of a combination of the
following factors: first and formost, it was free. second, i was reeaally
close and therefore much more interested, in addition, i swear she was much
less self-indulgent and bitter. she didn't mention julie once. this may have
been because she had her current girlfrined with her and it would have been
bad form.
highlights: her crew kept screwing around, throwing this plastic flower at
her on the flower part of the i want to be in love chorus, the crew replaced
her tea with tequila which she brought her girlfriend onstage to taste, some
fan jumped up on stage and she had a really funny reaction to it.
anyway, just wanted to share my newly reformulated opinion.
