hey guys!

the fillmore was awesome. i took two rolls of film which will be back
in an hour and a half. i'm hopefully going to post some of them to my
website this afternoon; i'll let you know.

below is my review, also to be posted on my website, www.indigirl.com.

[...]

- --------------------
this was... without a doubt... the best concert i've ever been to.

[...]

a film crew had set up inside. i asked one of the cameramen what they
were filming; "live at the fillmore", which will be on upn sometime.

before the show, some cameras went around to film people in line and at
the stage. supposedly, the show dates will be posted on the
fillmore
website sometime soon.

[...]

after a very long wait, the girls came out. amy was wearing the same
outfit she had on earlier, and emily had changed into a blue tee shirt
and a very pretty blue batik shirt. both looked awesome and very
relaxed. they got a wonderful welcome from the crowd and seemed to
really enjoy the high positive energy level going around.

during the concert, the cameras were everywhere. i think i was on tape
quite a bit, but it's hard to tell. the setlist was just about perfect.
i know someone else will post it, so i'll include it here as soon as i
get it.

matt brubeck and sarah from k's choice, along with michelle, played and
sang on many of the songs. seeing matt in an acoustic performance
was very special; the cello adds such a great dimension to the guitars,
and he's such a talented performer!

highlights for me were the four new songs (especially yield and
deconstruction of love), devotion (of course), and cold beer and remote
control (!!!!).

kid fears was amazing, with the audience strong on the michael stipe
part. actually, all the songs were great. amy made a few flubs - in
virginia woolf she missed the word "captor" and replaced it with
something else that was really weird. (i can't remember for the life of
me now, but i will!) she laughed, then teased herself about it during
the break.

they seemed to not tell as many stories this time, maybe because of the
cameras, but emily did say that she wrote "she's saving me" for her
sister who passed away last year. she also spoke about pigeons, how a
friend told her they seem to be grouping together a lot more lately.
she and amy speculated on
what birds know.

amy spoke a bit about this documentary she saw that day about women
mountain bike racers. sounded very cool.

the show lasted about 100 minutes. they didn't do an encore, explaining
again how they thought it was sort of silly. amy said she wanted to
start an anti-encore movement in the music community.
i think it was at this point that she said she would sit down with
madonna and discuss ticket prices as well.

they ended with "closer to fine" instead of "galileo" which was a
sentimental and nostalgic change.

[...]

thanks to all the cool people i met there!!!!!!!!!
