but more importantly,
how cute is amy in braids!?
can't wait to see them tonite and tomorrow night in boston!

those braids are adorable! i'm in florida right now and they played become
you, galileo and moment of forgiveness. it was definitely worth waking up
for! they sounded great (though a tad slow, it seemed to me, in places???)
great close-ups, amy did great on harmonica.... the anchors talked about them
all through the program and every time they broke for a commercial they
played an ig song. soledad obrien asked a and e about the fans and then
soledad called us rabid.
i'm so excited for berkeley in july!

i was (past tense) planning on skipping tonights show - i still dunno if i
will buy a ticket - the venue isnt my fave - i know their seating isnt all
too hot and you can hear them fine outside the venue - so i rushed to get a
reservation on amtrak, and will at least hear them. and maybe, if i'm not
too frugal , i might even buy a ticket - but yeah both of them looked
really good this morning.
actually - this might be one of the few venues in the north east you can
hang out and still hear the show.
and i remember the first time on the today show - i distinctly remember
skippng high school and they were great, it wasn't the "great awakening to
the obsessive force of indigo girls fandom" that was actually 12 yrs ago -
when they were filler to my - still favorite rem bootleg.
mike r.
*hoping, as always, for either, kid fears or ghost, and i better not try to
convince a listserv that i've been on for a few months shy of a decade that
i was actually *trying* to miss a ig concert.*

gee, i didn't see any mention of a list meet for philly but i usually can't make them anyway since my son jordan, the biggest 12 year old ig fan, always accompanies me. but i'm sorry we missed everyone. jordan said before the concert "do you think we'll see neil??"
last night marked 5 years straight going to see the girls together. jordan's first concert was at the mann in 1997 when he was 7 years old. i'm grateful and amazed that he still will go to a concert with his old mom since he is on the cusp of adolesence. he sang his heart out to every song up there on the balcony with a giant grin on his face.
the highlight for me was amy's "laramie" from stag !!!!!!! it was just incredible and she looked so passionate playing it. they started out and then stopped after a few bars apologising because "it was the first time we ever played this song together and amy's hair is in her face" then they started over and i was enthralled the whole time. i think i was the only one on the balcony standing, screaming ("amy you are a rock star") and clapping at the end of the song (most of the crowd didn't know the song) i hope they can play it again this tour so other people can hear it. i felt so honored that they played it the first time together when i was in the audience!

hi all!
just got info from robert (sweet austrian listee whom i ran into at the
berlin show) on the date for the broadcast of the hamburg show from a
couple of weeks ago.
it'll be on ndr2 a german radio station on july 22nd.
everyone else can listen to it, too, though, because they webcast their
whole program.
don't be afraid of the german website...;)... just go to:
<http://www.ndr2.de/index.html>
and then click on the link "live hoeren" (i.e. listen live) in the navigat=
ion
bar on the left... and voil=e0:).
the show starts at 9 pm cet (so it's 3 pm us eastern time, for
example).if you want to check out what time it'd be for you: this is a
good place to go: <http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/>
of course, i'll be recording the thing and mp3ing it and putting it up on
my site for everyone who doesn't have a good enough connection to
listen to it when it's being broadcast and everyone who might have to
work at the time or whatever.
be well,
kathrin
ps thanks again to robert for the info:)

there's an interview with the girls in issue #51 of guitar world
acoustic. the the goo goo dolls guitar player is on the cover. it
features a great photo of them, em sporting the tough girl look -
backwards baseball cap and banjo. ;-)
my local station doesn't carry the weekend today show, so i'd love to
get a copy of it from someone, i can trade boots for it or do b&p.
thanks,
diane

hi y'all!
great show last night. can't wait for tonights! amy had her braids in =
again. she just looked so darn cute in them. me in braids, i look like =
i'm trying to look 10 again. it just doesn't work for me, but =
amy.......yeah:)
did anyone else think that emily during "become you" with the red lights =
on her and the wind blowing her hair looked absolutely stunning?!?!?!
oh yeah, and they sang great too:)
who was the other guitar tech? i was wondering where sulli was at =
first. she seemed to be taking care of emily's guitars and this other =
woman amy's. my husband loved watching brady blade, as he's a drummer =
too.
i have to say that sitting in section 4 really sucked after standing 10 =
feet from amy at the paradise. tonight won't be much better. section 1 =
row bb binocs help, especially when they show a closeup on the big =
screens and you focus in on that.
oh...great to hear laramie too. a friend that was with us didn't know =
the song and it sold her on picking up stag.
just a thought....do you think amy picked up some of her moves from neil =
young? gotta love em both! lol
hugs,

actually, amy is a huge neil young fan as am i. that's why i was so jazzed to hear it in philly friday night. laramie could easily be a song written by neil and i personally believe that it's not a coincidence at all that laramie sounds like a neil young song. i think its a definite tribute to neil from amy.
of course that's just my opinion, i could be wrong.........

played become you, moment of forgiveness and galileo for the taping. and
then once the cameras went off, they played "least complicated" as a special

hey everyone - so friday night was my first, yes first, indigo girls concert
and i have to say it was the best night of my life. laramie, like other
people said, was completely amazing, amy looked absolutely gorgeous and they
did all my favorite songs. i was in row k and it was just amazing! thanks for
posting the setlist, i couldnt remember all of the songs. anyway im just
gushing about how amazing it was to be part of so many people who love the
indigo girls, and it was really really awesome! sorry this is sort of
pointless.

let me chime in on how great the philadelphia show was. laramie was
definitely the highlight. it was *much* better than it was on amy ray's
solo stag tour (imho).
i am so grateful to live in new jersey -- so i have easy access to both
philadelphia and new york (i'm going to radio city on tuesday). hooray!
i gardened all day yesterday with the indigo girls blasting. sort of
like having a private concert in my backyard. what a great day!

good morning,
i wrote down all the songs i remembered from laast night, and here they are, in no particular order:
bitterroot (again, the opener)
get out the map
watershed (!)
kid fears w/k's choice's lead male vocal -sara's brother- playing michael stipe's part perfectly
virginia woolf (!!!)
least complicated
hope alone
collecting you
deconstruction of love
yield
moment of forgiveness
go (!) **
philosophy of loss -this was emily's solo and it was exquisite!
johnny rottentail -this was amy's solo. what an antithesis to emily's! these women continue to amaze me!
closer to fine - sara from k's choice joined them on this one
laramie!**
galileo
become you
ozilline
power of 2
shame on you
** amy was so charged up on these 2 songs. she rocked so hard that she could barely catch her breath when she was done. her body and her guitar were involved in a kind of dance that was intense and electrifying. kind of left me speechless.
k's choice really got us all going in a way that danielle howle didn't, imo. they were great and very touched by the appreciation from the audience. amy introduced them and later, she and emily came out and played with them.
one funny thing that happened, and i forget which song it was, i think yield, amy forgot to plug her mandolin in. so the drummer gets going in the beginning, and with this song, the drumming commands the intro into yield, and then amy gives a hand signal to cut. she was embarrased.
got to mention amy's choice of clothing. even though it was much colder than sat. night, she was in a different outfit during k's choice's set. when she and emily came out for their set, amy was back in braids and wearing a combination red plaid kilt/pants thingy. very cool on her.
they both looked and sounded great both nights. there was something about the crowd last night, though. i don't know how to explain it. there was a definite mutual appreciation thing going on that was also there sat. night, but it was different. maybe other attendees can articulate it better than i can, but i felt it.
i hope they don't stop touring for a really long time.
i'm so grateful for them.

thought amy's hair was too precious!!! she looked 25. i really hope she
grows it out. i think she'd be amazing looking with long hair :). it was
a totally fun hairdo...
i would also like to know who on the list was there. girlfriend recognized
a couple of baigls and one skinny guy who's name i can't remember...some
guy from another state visiting his parents in ny or something that
weekend? it was nice seeing everyone there lip synching along. this is
the first time i've seen them pan the crowd (more than usual) to show
everyone having a good time. :)
back to work for me! (urgh...bad weather=insurance claims....)
peace!

ok. so who has a car with nh tags that say bcomeu. i wish i had =
thought of that!!! i passed you on 93 last night just by 128 lol!
omg last night's concert was so rockin! saturday felt kind of like =
being in church. stand up, sit down, stand up, sit down. last night =
was standing/dancing for most of the show. we were sitting right behind =
the vip boxes in section 1. i was the brunette with the binoculars =
glued to my face. what was that thing on amy's pants???? at first i =
was thinking it was something that fell down from her skirt during =
laramie, then it looked like it was attached to the buckles on her =
knees. it looked like shackles. was anyone closer who could see what =
that was? g-d she looks so amazingly awesome in a tank top and did =
y'all see that tat peeking out of the top everyonceinawhile? plus you =
could see her arm tat really well.
emily's voice is so much better in person than on cd's. i tried really =
hard to pay more attention when she was singing on sunday and to look at =
her more, but with the binocs, i just couldn't stay away from watching =
amy. besides my hubby went with me on saturday night. so i couldn't =
really watch her too closely, heeheehee. last night though...yowza! =
and when they put a close up on the big screen, through binocs...!wow!
i had to laugh when they came out to sing with k's choice though. after =
i made the neil young comment about saturdays show, amy comes out =
wearing fatigues and a flannel plaid shirt. cracked me up. now she's =
dressing out of neil's closet!!! i was bumming too, cause she didn't =
have her braids in then, but so psyched when she came back out with them =
in. so gosh darn cute!!!
what a treat to hear watershed, jonnyrottentail, and shame on you has =
got to be one of my favs. laramie rocked!!!!!
when emily was singing philosophy of loss, i was scanning the stage =
looking for amy. i found her behind sulli, then talking to sulli, =
chewing on either her finger (her own, not sulli's) or her pick maybe, =
then she was behind the other tech (her's) then came out for the next =
song. she never stopped moving though, when she wasn't walking she was =
sort of rocking back and forth. it was cool to see her in a quiet =
moment. i felt kind of like a voyeur. hmmmmm
anyway. it was a great time. took my daughter's best friend's mom last =
night. my hubby had a great time on saturday but didn't want to go two =
nights in a row. it's so great to be able to talk about the guys when =
they're not around lol!
hugs,

i had to laugh when = they came out=20 to sing with k's choice though. after i made the neil young = comment=20 about saturdays show, amy comes out wearing fatigues and a flannel plaid = shirt. cracked me up. now she's dressing out of neil's=20 closet!!! i was bumming too, cause she didn't have her braids in = then, but=20 so psyched when she came back out with them in. so gosh darn=20 cute!!!
what a treat to hear = watershed,=20 jonnyrottentail, and shame on you has got to be one of my favs. = laramie=20 rocked!!!!!
when emily was = singing philosophy=20 of loss, i was scanning the stage looking for amy. i found her = behind=20 sulli, then talking to sulli, chewing on either her finger (her own, not = sulli's) or her pick maybe, then she was behind the other tech (her's) = then came=20 out for the next song. she never stopped moving though, when she = wasn't=20 walking she was sort of rocking back and forth. it was cool to see = her in=20 a quiet moment. i felt kind of like a voyeur. = hmmmmm
anyway. it was = a great=20 time. took my daughter's best friend's mom last night. my = hubby had a=20 great time on saturday but didn't want to go two nights in a row. = it's so=20 great to be able to talk about the guys when they're not around=20 lol!
hugs,

since i was also there, and sitting right next to sue, i wanted to echo
her review! i have been going to see them for over ten years and i'm
always amazed how each new year tops the last! the electric lightening
storm only heightened the electricity in the air, although i felt bad for
the people who had lawn seats. amy jamming on laramie was something i will
never forget - she looked so amazing! it was great to hear the old songs
mixed in with new - it kind of goes along with the fans - there were two
girls who were probably about 12 dancing their hearts out all night! i
love to see that. i did manage to drag myself out of bed to watch them on
tv the next morning - it was so worth it to see those braids! i hope all
that were there felt the same way - great people, great music, a memorable
night! i hope to have the same on tuesday!

okay. they played 4 songs in total--but only 3 were televised (and in some
areas, only 2 were shown). they played become you, galileo, and moment of
forgiveness and after the cameras were shut off, emily said "so, we heard
you guys might want to hear another song?" and they launched into least
complicated. i have to say, it almost brought tears to my eyes to hear the
hundreds of fans in rockefeller plaza singing along with the "nah nah nah"
part so loudly that it echoed. just the kind of musical healing we all need
here in nyc!!!

in-reply-to: <f159yv2wjolkcq3pzli00012234@hotmail.com>
mime-version: 1.0
content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
hello all,
i'm "new" to the list after being away for several
years, so i hope to catch up on all of the great
discussions!
i am hoping that someone out there would be willing to
get a blue tour t-shirt for me at an upcoming show.
of course i will reimburse all costs with cash and/or
tapes of shows from my boot list. please reply via
email if you can help me out!!
last week i was at both wolf trap shows in vienna, va
and the girls were great! i was a little disappointed
that the set lists were so similar...i expected to
hear the new songs both nights, but was hoping for
more variety with the "old" songs.
amy said she's working on learning the harmonica in
front of 5000 people and that in general, european
public transportation is easier to navigate than
the washington dc metro!
emily shared that she's been into getting pedicures
lately, and got one done in dc. the woman from the
salon was in the audience and they played the wood
song for her.
amy's performance of johnny rottentail on thursday was
fast and furions, and emily was totally rocking during
chickenman both nights, but wednesday especially.
one of my new favorite songs is bitterroot, which they
opened with both nights.
enjoy the upcoming shows, and if anyone can help me
out with getting a t-shirt, i hope to hear from you!
thanks
sue

i just looked on the murder city devils web site and
have to say that i really, really like these lyrics
from one of their songs:
if you're not gonna dance
get off the floor
people like you
are what the balcony's made for
be warned: their web site is pretty bloody (and i mean
that in the literal sense, not the english curse word
sense). their band photos are done up like crime
scenes.

hi all!
does anybody remember the first song they played on the sound
system after the girls left the stage at both the brighton and the london
shows???
it was one and the same song, i believe... a cover, i think...
something that's currently in the charts, i guess.
anyone remember?
i meant to memorize some lines from it, so i could look it up on the net
later but of course, have forgotten them by now;).
thx for any help:).

hey...
i've been doing some catching up this week. thanks to tracy and anna for the
kind words- i joined this list in college, and it has always been a cool
and supportive community. at the time i joined, i would never have guessed
that i'd be touring for a living, but i'm very lucky to be doing what i
love. i've never quite been able to bring myself to leave this list even
though i don't get much chance to read it.
i was at wolftrap on wednesday night, just a couple of hours after picking
up my cat from the vet. four years old and never before sick, he had
developed a cough earlier that week. $700 in oxygen and lung-draining and
ultrasounds later, the vet said that he had a massive tumor in his chest,
and would not last the month. i'm pretty good at playing strong, and we had
packed a picnic and the evening was pleasant, but i will admit i broke down
crying during oziline. "i had to put the dog down before i hit the road..."
i'm leaving again on monday, and i was terrified that i would have to leave
him behind knowing somebody else would have to bring him to the vet if he
got worse again. the first time ever that i didn't want to leave. anyway,
over the last two days, he got worse and stopped eating and sleeping, and we
had him put down this morning, and i buried him on my aunt's land out in the
country. i'm so glad i was able to be there to make the decision...and its
oziline that's been playing in my head all afternoon.
have a good summer

hey all--
after tickets went on sale sunday, i again find that using the 'better
safe than sorry' philosophy of ticket buying has left me with a block of
five seats together.
they are in section c, row 11. a seating chart is here:
<http://preferredseat.com/greek.html>
those of us who have seen the girls at the greek know just how special a
summer's evening there can be.
anyway, i'll be there, in section g, but i have this block to sell.
face value, of course, which is just shy of $50 per pop after all the
fees.
i would obviously like to sell the whole shabang but if you need 1, 2,
or 3, i can do that also.
have fun in new york tonight.
see ya,
michael.

between 9:10 and 9:15 for all the first 3 shows.

this may not be a good time to bring this up since amy and emily are on tour and there's a lot to post about now, but i will anyway since my memory can't be relied upon to mention this later.
while in the car one day, (i have no cd player in my car and no cassette of become you) i was singing to myself some songs from the cd, and noticed that, (without instruments) some songs sound much better than others. "become you" didn't have "legs", while "deconstruction of love" could walk on its own.
rena
ps - to those who are lucky enough to have great seats at shows: i highly advise bringing binoculars for this reason - sometimes during a song (where the audience is singing along) during a part when emily sings while amy waits for her part (or visa versa), it's a great time to get a close look at the one who isn't singing because usually she is watching the audience sing and loving it!!!!!
i watched amy in this way several times while emily sang with the crowd, and the expressions on amy's face was priceless. she was so happy! emily loved it, too but she was occupied with lyrics while amy was just taking it all in. it was really heartwarming to see that, for what it's worth.
rena
it seemed to me that emily's songs sound better

it's not a good idea to post to the list when there are repairmen in your home. i was interrupted a few times while sending the previous message and wanted to clarify something.
this isn't about amy vs. emily at all. it also not about deconstruction of love being a better song. i love become you. it's my favorite song on the cd. i just noticed that dol as a melody alone, carried most of the feeling of the song, whereas in by, the tune alone doesn't convey the impact of the song, imo, nearly as well as it does with all the accompaniment.
so the question would be:
what indigo girls song, sung without instruments, "feels" the most complete?

for me its always been three hits. its a simple melody, but stands very well
on its own. easy to get other people to sing with you too. :-)

yes, but you have to smack your thighs 3 times if you're singing it alone,
where the drums would bang 3 times on the record. :)

ha! well, i was thinking you would hit your thighs with your hand, but if
you're wearing short shorts and your thighs are big enough, it could be a
nice thighmasterish workout to do this song, couldn't it?

definately 'everything in it's own time'. that song really doesn't need any of the instruments behind it but voice. i think that song is really carried by the emotion behind it, and emily's voice really brings that out. i woud love to hear it acapella.

related to rena's thread about which ig songs can stand on their own, i'm
wondering what ig songs have made it onto the camp song circuit. when i was
a camper and counselor in the 70s/80s, we were big on singing stuff by female
folkies like joni mitchell, judy collins and carly simon. (of course, i also
had teenage campers whose favorite song was "ring my bell" -- lots of depth
there.)
so for all you high school/college students, what ig songs have you sung at
camp? i would imagine ctf, but also maybe power of two or least complicated?
i don't play guitar anymore but have been trying to think of which songs
would be simple and melodic enough to be strummed on a basic 6-string.
now totally nostalgic for camp (but too old to go),

subject: radio city from a different view.....
mime-version: 1.0
content-type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
content-transfer-encoding: 7bit
hey everyone,
i just had to write to share our experience so everyone can share the view of
radio city music hall that we encountered. well, being ig junkies we had seen
both shows in boston and decided that we could go to 1 of the rcmh shows and
in getting into nyc decided we just had to stay for the second show. well, we
got our tixs for the second show (7 th. row orch dead center) we were so
excited. we went to our seats for the show, and rcmh is so huge that we were
pretty far back but we were still grateful to be there at all. the show was
great the girls seems so excited to be there at one point emily said that she
was not very chatty cause she was overwhelmed at being in such a famous
place, i believe the quote was something like "two girls from georgia..who
would've thought." anyway, after show my gf went down towards the stage,
looking for picks and set lists and stuff. i stayed in my seat and waited for
her to return, she was literally and i mean literally the last person to
leave the stage area, we were the only people left in rc that didn't work
there so we left and when we got outside we realized that we had left my gf
purse at the seat, we rushed back (couldn't have been more than 10 minutes)
to of course find that all of her $$ had been stolen out of her purse. my gf
then went back to confront security about the incident to if nothing more see
if there was something she could do, given that we had drove up from boston
and that was all of her $$. security let her back in and told her she could
file an incident report and they could call the police, but that it would
probably not do any good. i was not allowed in the building w/ her because i
"was just a friend" and i would have to wait outside. i waited about 100 ft
from the stage door where all the fans were gathering to wait to see a & e
come out, and frankly i wanted to stand away cause i was disgusted w/ myself
for my complete stupidity!!! well, i watched every and i mean every employee
exit that theater and i saw 2 guys walk out and comment about how much $$ was
actually in the wallet
they had said, ha they only thought they had $250.00 in that wallet, and i
said no she had $280.00 in her wallet, the guy looked at me shocked and said,
oh sorry ma'am we were talking about something that happened at work and i
said yea, you are talking about how much $$ was stolen from my gf wallet, the
guy said oh don't worry they are filling out a report right now it should get
taken care of, when i tried to go in and tell the security guard what i had
just heard i was again not allowed in the building.
i waited for my gf to exit and we decided that we did not want to attend the
show the next night so we went to rcmh the next day to get our tickets
refunded, and surprise, surprise guess who was checking bags when we got to
the door...yes the man w/ all the info from the night before, he almost died
when he saw me, we asked to see the manager and the woman at the door asked
why and we told her, and i told her what i had heard and that i would have
liked to have been given a chance to tell the police what i had heard but was
not allowed in the building, i also told her that i thought that those guys
seemed to have a little too much information about the wallet and how much $$
was inside it, and of all the employees who walked out that they were they
only ones talking about it, i said that i thought we had the right to know
which members of their staff had in fact turned in the purse, and it was
disheartening to think that the people who are hired to "police" the area are
the ones you need to watch out for. well, as it turns out the manager is far
too "busy" to see anyone, but my gf was allowed to speak to his secretary on
the phone through the reception window. his secretary asked her and this is a
direct quote" not to be rude, but what do you expect to get out of this?" my
gf said i just want you to know what kind of people you have working here and
policing your theater, and to let other people know who to be on the look out
for, and i believe that by not trying to hold some one accountable for their
actions you are in fact condoning them and saying hey, if you can steal
$280.00 out of someone's wallet and get away w/ it while being payed to
protect our theater and concert goers, more power to you!! we understand that
it was our fault for not being more careful and we of course realize and do
not expect rcmh to "fix" the situation, but what we did expect was to be
treated w/ respect, and we would have felt much better if some resolve was
even attempted, but instead we were treated like assholes by assholes!! i
have never in my life felt more discriminated against as a woman, as white
person and as a lesbian! if jesus christ himself was appearing at rcmh i
would never again enter that building. if the message rc was trying to send
to us was fuck you, well then our response is fuck you too!!!! i am sorry to
rant to the whole list about this, but we wanted everyone to know how we were
treated.
take care,
janet & kristin

damn--i just read that whole radio city story with the stolen wallet. that
totally sucks. it's a shame because i have been temporarily unsubbed due to
being in ny for the rcmh concert on tuesday and this was the first post i
read about the show. i must admit to not being at all surprised that the
venue staff was so rude. i am also not surprised that the cash was taken so
quickly. after all it is new york. my friend once had her purse stolen
literally from underneath the table we were eating at in ny. it was somehow
snatched while we ate and no one noticed. total shame as the show was one
of the best i have been to in many years. amazing energy. had to be a
total damper on the evening.
however, hopefully in a few weeks/months it will be put in perspective.
radio city is still a phenomenal and exciting place to see a concert as
evidenced by emily's awe. new york is still an amazing city. ig still rock
and are great in concert. and there are still total loser scumbag
individuals in the world who care nothing about other human beings. sorry
you had such a horrible experience...hope you can keep it in perspective.

hey all,
we bought an extra set of tickets for a friend who is unable to attend
the tuesday, july 2, 2002, ig concert at the fox theatre in st. louis, mo.
the opener is lisa loeb (one of only two shows she's opening so far, i
believe)
two tickets, section oro3, row t, seats 125 and 127. these are two seats
together, one of them on the aisle of this center section. row t is about at
the center of the floor of this theatre, maybe a few rows closer to the
front. the fox is a lovely restored theatre with great acoustics with great
seating throughout the venue.
the tickets were $32.50 each, plus service charges...i will consider any
reasonable offer, so don't be shy about offering less than face value...i
just don't want them to go to waste.
thanks!

when i was at camp in nh back in the late 80s early 90s...it was definitely ctf,
least complicated, the wood song, but surprisingly prince of darkness was the
most widely known?! :)

see, my friend adam and i used to sing prince of darkness. he would sing
amy's part and i would sing emily's. no instruments. just voices. it was
really beautiful. usually i'm an amy singer (my girlfriend sings emily's
part most frequently). but adam and i sounded really good. he's got a
strong voice. :) anyway, prince of darkness was a real confidence booster
when there wasn't much to be had. :)

definately 'everything in it's own time'. that song really doesn't need
any of the instruments behind it but voice. i think that song is really
carried by the emotion behind it, and emily's voice really brings that out.
i woud love to hear it acapella.

does anyone out there have the set list for radio city
on tuesday june 4th? it was such a great show, but my
partner and i haven't been able to reconstruct it. we
think we have all the songs, but can't remember the
order.
also, i'm a native new yorker, but have been living in
chicago for the last 5 years. my partner and i moved
back last year, but haven't found a 'community' like
we had in chicago. we saw all these women at the
concert and wanted to just randomly stop people to ask
where they lived and where they hung out, but thought
better of it. :) if anyone out there has
thoughts/suggestions/comments, we would really love to
hear them. we live in queens and work in manhattan
right now, but are looking for a house in a suburb
(ny,nj,ct)...
thanks in advance!

ny is the exact place to do that!!!! think better of not doing it next time,
you'll be thrilled with the results.... specialy if you meet 'em at an ig
concert in that part of nyc! there are many million reasons why ny is the
greatest cities in the world. and about seven million of them are the people
you'll talk to! rock on new york!!!
as for the initial question about the set list; here is my best attempt,
which may i first say that this was about the best f'ing setlist they have
ever done!!! this was time number 12 or so for me seeing them and it was
perfect. my girlfriend, who was seeing them for the first time, who i
introduced the girls to knew every song!!! and was singing along! i'm so
proud!
well.... here's the list i can remember, let's make this happen;
bitterroot
map
become you
ghost - they played ghost!!! just them!!! ghost! ghost!!!
tried to be true
moment of forgiveness
colecting you
oziline - which i called my house and left a few seconds of it on my
answering machiene... i'm selling it on e-bay, and i'll include the story
about the drunk girls sitting behind me who spilled beer all over the girl
sitting next to me!!!! act now!
closer to fine
happy birthday : to some seven year old kid in a big 'cat in the hat' hat on
his farthers sholders named jaimie
least complicated
yeild
virginia wolf
shame on you
our deliverance
hope alone
laramine - which did surprise me, not sure why but it did
chickenman - it was just them on this one too, it was weird, kinda
mellow..enjoyable, but not what chicken man usally is

hi
saw the query about this a few days ago & don't know if anyone else posted
yet but after
a bit of head scratching & visualising my girlfriend came up with the song
played on the speakers at lights up at the recent brighton/london/w'hampton
gigs.
it was respect by erasure (think that's its title) that goes "give a little
respect ....toooooo. meeee"
"so baby refrain...from breaking my heart...i'm so in love with you..."
very bouncy & uplifting. if it was a cover i'm too old & out of the loop of
the charts to know who it is by!
hope this helps

hi all....
i have 4 tickets to tomorrow's concert at pine knob for anyone interested
in the detroit area. they are pavillion seats, 29th row or something. i'd
be willing to break them up into 2's, as well.
each ticket is $32. all's i want is face value - i'll take care of the
ticketmaster fees.
thanks.
peace.

hi there!
well, turns out the ig newbie i took to the concert here in hamburg is
now way ahead of me information wise, lol.
she just informed me that the ig mini show they did for radio bremen
on may 4th is going to be broadcast on nordwestradio (sadly no
webcast that i know of:(() on july 16th, 20:05 cet (8:05 pm).
i don't own a radio myself and i don't intend to get one for that purpose
only;) but i'm sure i can find someone to record it for me and i'll mp3
the stuff and put it on my site then.
i'll post about it again, once i have the stuff available.
just thought i'd share.

ps oh, and i was the one who asked about that song they played at
some european shows after the girls left the stage... thanks to
everyone who replied, i now know that it was indeed "a little respect"
by wheatus (the original was by erasure)

support bill maher!
this note was sent to you from this page:

sender's comments:
i'm helping start a campaign. can you take a few seconds to help?
bill maher is being unfairly condemned for comments he made on politically incorrect. sponsors have pulled their advertising, abc has announced it will cancel the show, and the worst part is that he didn't even say the things he was accused of saying.
our nation is in the midst of a crisis, and we must stand together. but we can't allow a small, shrill group to exploit this crisis to destroy the reputation of a fellow citizen. that's why we've started a petition expressing support for bill, and asking abc and his sponsors to do the same.
if you agree, please go to <http://www.millionflagmarch.com/bill/> and sign our petition. thanks for your help.
