hello!

i have kind of a special indigo girls item for sale and thought i may
have some luck asking people on the list!

the item i own was originally made by joe hamilton. i'm sure that name rings
a bell to some of you. it is a very large framed picture that contains 2
original strange fire lp's from indigo records, 1 original strange fire
cassette also from indigo records, and a hand written and signed invoice by
amy ray on indigo records paper. the center has beautiful hand carved
letters to match the invoice. i don't have an exact measurement of the
picture right now, but my guess would be about 41/2 ft by about 3 1/2 feet.
it is all contained in specially carved out white matting with a beautiful
black frame. the frame job alone cost about $500.

this is a beautiful item for any serious collector. it is a wonderful piece
of memorabilia. i hate to loose it, but i'm moving and can't keep it
anymore.

i am asking $600, and that will include shipping (which may be an issue).

if anyone is interested, send me an email and we'll talk.

thanks!

-heather

howdy ya'll,

barbara mentioned the watershed dvd and i take it she
was discussing things that are not on the video?
because just this past month i got a dvd player-i'm
entirely too excited about it-and wanted to know what
all was out there for the ig on dvd and with those
dvd's if anything was different/better on the dvd
versions.  i have all the official videos but, you
know, i wanted to see if it was worth it to double up
and get the dvd's.  lemme know, and thanks!  this is a
real newbie question, i realize...  peace and love all
the same!

does the watershed dvd include anything different from the
vhs.....answer? yes...

it includes the press kit ig sent out to radio stations to announce
shaming of the sun...
it's entitled indigo girls video year book which covers them from 1989
to 1997 in ten minutes.
it's right on the dvd version.

should you (juliana) go out and get the dvd ?
yes...then you could avoid going to ebay to get video yearbook.

and besides dvd's last longer and the pictures are better than on vhs.

it is very sad in deed......one of the most liberal senators in
washington d.c.paul david wellstone was on a plane headed to eveleth mn
for a funeral when it crashed just two miles from the eveleth airport.

there were eight people aboard...also killed were his wife, sheila, and
their daughter marsha, three  staffers, and the two pilots aboard.

i had the priviledge of meeting him on several occasions, and he seemed
like a very good man......i am glad i heard the news at work  and not at
home where i would  have been alone all day.  i'm afraid i no longer
have much chance of being heard now that  my senator and my
candidate...are gone.

i guess i can just say,"hello, norm." (yuck!!)
this election,i think the democrats are really going to have to
scramble...to win minnesota's seat.   :-( :-(

that is if jesse doesn't appoint someone.

yes, it's very sad news. :( terrible. not a minnesotan, but i was a fan of
wellstone from afar. he was so good!

i really don't think you need to be so pessimistic about the seat, though.
look at missouri's governor race in 2000. carnahan won posthumously after
dying just a few weeks before the election. (his wife, of course, was
appointed to serve after the dead man won.) so now you'll have everyone's
attention on the race, which should help your voter turnout. you're sure
to get some good support from the national party for ads and things to
make sure people know who the new guy is. the republicans will probably
have some of the acid drained from their systems since the broken 2 term
promise is no longer an issue, and they won't want to look too vicious
right after this tragedy so they probably won't run vitriolic ads.

so, buck up there, li'l minnesotan.

i don't want to sound too pessimistic here, but i just read about some
information.  the minnesota law wouldn't allow wellstone to win posthumously
because according to the law, a death creates a vacancy on the ballot and it
would not be legal to leave wellstone's name on.  according to attorney
general mike hatch, the candidate's party can nominate someone to fill that
spot, but that candidate would have to fulfill certain requirements,
including being alive.

hey y'all!

i am going down to florida all the way from san francisco to catch the jax
and gainesville shows.  i have a few questions for florida natives and those
who are familiar with florida:

gainesville is one week away. jax is one week from tomorrow  but still no
word on the opener(s)? does anyone in fl know anything that i don't?

also, i am flying into jax at 9am on sunday. can anyone please give me exact
directions from the airport to gainesville (or even the venue)?

what is there to do in jacksonville and gainesville? i want to know, since i
will have to figure out what to do with myself during the day.

what is the weather like in northern florida in november?

thanks in advance for your help!

:-) karen

hell yeah!  that is such good news for us on the west coast.  i wonder if it'll be a single date, or part of an entire tour.  hmmm...

anyway, thanks to everyone who answered my questions about florida.  yes, i will drive super carefully between jax and gainesville.  no point in driving out of control and dealing with florida law enforcement.  ;)  anyway, i am very excited to go down there and see the girls!  (and then come back home and see the girls again about a month later.  that will be 12 times in this one year!!!)
