it's true...my gf and i, unfortunately, cannot make it to the nyc show,
so 2 of you lucky listees (or one of you and a "friend") should buy our
tickets from us. however, should you take these tickets, you must
promise to do lots o' jumping up and down and singing along and enjoying
the nice view of our sexy grrls. you must! for those of you who haven't
been there, the bowery is excellent and intimiate!

the other issue is that the tickets are will call. so, i will sell the
tickets to the person who can call the bowery for me and find out what i
need to do to allow another person to pick up my tickets. i can't go to
the venue since i live in philly.

obviously, i only want what i paid for the tickets which was, i believe,
around $47, but i'll look that up before the transaction is done.

opening night of the tour.  great crowd.  the place was packed with
enthusiastic fans.  colorado is one of the best places to see them, imo
(largely thanks to kbco's long term support).  good energy all around, at
least in front of the stage where i was.

set list was as follows:

deconstruction
gone

cold beer
moment
deliverance

chickenman/bitterroot

the shows are intended to be more like 45 minutes. this one ran just over
an hour. everything was on the set list except for ch/bi. but there was
no way they could stop without giving the enthusiastic house an upbeat
crowd pleaser.

i just wish it had been anything but chickenman. (but that's just me.)

it's a real shame that they didn't do a better job of coordinating the club
tour to be even a few weeks after the album release. the crowd was
certainly engaged and interested in the new material, but it's tough when
it's not even familiar. there was a core group of us up front who knew it
pretty well, but that wasn't enough to sustain the energy.

during all of the familiar songs, which in this crowd was everything
commercially available, the place was electric and filled with singing
voices. amy commented multiple times about how good it sounded (and i
believe she was sincere).

as for me, i was terribly disappointed in the set list.  i expected plenty
of new material, and that was a-ok by me.  after all, that's what this is
all about.  my disappointment was the other stuff.  just none of the stuff
i really like.

they played moment of forgiveness, least complicated and our
deliverance and there were mini-interviews between the songs... funny
thing was that emily actually talked about how recently things between
her and amy have changed around, so that now amy is the more
prolific one...

anyhoo... they also said (well, not they themselves but the host said it
after the show) that they'll be back in the area in spring/summer.
