tour becomes indigo girls

fans on both shores of the atlantic will have an opportunity to catch the
indigo girls on their become you tour this year. emily saliers and amy ray
hit europe beginning april 27 and stick around for 13 shows. then, at the
end of may, the indigo girls kick off their u.s. tour with a two-night stand
in vienna, va.

the second leg of the girls' tour starts july 4. only a few shows are
confirmed thus far, with the schedule expected to expand as dates and venues
are nailed down.

earlier this year, the indigo girls celebrated the then-pending release of
their new album with a club tour previewing the new material. the duo
started the mini-tour in february and continued through part of march.

the preview club gigs featured the acoustic stylings of the acclaimed
singer/songwriters as they played 45 minute- to hour-long sets of new tunes
from their forthcoming 12-song album, become you. the album is the indigo
girls' eighth studio album and was released march 12.

prior to the "parties," as they were called, the indigo girls played a
handful of shows in france and the u.k.

become you marks the girls' first album of new material since 1999's come on
now social.

after checking with a few pittsburgh people, i think the show might be
free. it is part of the 2 week art festival and usually all the shows
are free. a website for the festival does not have the performing
artists listed, yet. it says to check back later. on fridays, the
festival runs from noon to 10pm.

ps. i think the website was something simple like www.pittsburgh.com and
i picked festivals.
