all the concerts at the fair are free with admission, which is $5. there
will be limited number of reserved seats available for $10 each beginning
april 22 at www.ocfair.com or the fair box office.

as far as the actual theater, i've never seen a show at the fair, so i'm
not sure about specifics. one press release says the capacity is 8,500. i'm
looking at the aerial photo of the fairgrounds, and i think my girl scout
troop's annual campout uses the theater space. if it the same theater, the
stage is open air, and in really bad shape (creaky floorboards that feel
like they're going to give). there's a small concrete area below and in
front of the stage (where i presume the reserved seats would be -- i'd
estimate room for 100 seats, maybe less) and behind that is a large, flat
grass field. i'll check on that, but i'm pretty sure that's where they hold
the concerts.
