indigo girls nail down summer tour plans

the indigo girls will kick off their summer north american tour may 27 in
portsmouth, va., and will be on the road through a july 21 date in winter
park, colo. the trek comes in support of the duo's latest epic album,
"become you," which debuted at no. 30 on the billboard 200 last month.
earlier this year, principals amy ray and emily saliers played 16 acoustic
dates in north america; the summer dates will see them backed by a full band.

the group is selling tickets to select shows, which will feature rotating
support from norah jones, danielle howle, and k's choice, via an online
partnership with musictoday.

"we change the set list every night," ray said in a recent online chat. "we
don't play songs when we don't want to play them. we sort of come to a
meeting of the minds on what the indigo girls will do. i think the key to
us staying together is respect and our differences."

"become you" features six songs each from ray and saliers, and find the
pair backed by its touring group: carol isaacs (keyboards/percussion),
clare kenny (bass), and brady blade (drums).

yesterday, the tv guide channel was showing it every other hour between
30-40 minutes past the hour. they might still be showing it today. yesterday
they were alternating it with a piece on lisa loeb.
