subject: [ig-news] review st. louis show
[sherlyn's note: this message was originally sent to the indigo
girls mailing list at netspace.org.]
it's early, and i've had only 2 hours sleep, but the show was worth it. first, amy looked delicious as
usual. emily was also her usual cute self. there was a fan blowing on emily, which continued to strew
her hair. by the end of the show it looked really wild. it was just awesome looking. she was getting
into an incredible guitar solo on laramie. sparks flying from her guitar strings and wind blowing her
hair--wow! amy is just awesome as ever live. i love to see her when she gets so passionate, especially
on songs she's written that have a political flare like, laramie and faye tucker. lisa loeb was great,
also. she sang the last verse w/ ig on ctf. she has an incredible voice and is a great guitar player.
i enjoyed her opener a lot and will probably pick up her new cd. she was really down to earth and
personable. now, for the bad. without fail, there is always some idiot who won't sit down or sings out
on songs it is inappropriate for, such as collecting you. these 3 girls were in front of
here are songs that i remember. i'm not sure on the order, and i'm not sure it is complete, but i'm
going by memory. anyway, it was great. ig sang for close to two hours i estimate.

watershed (they dedicated this to mrs. fun, who played earlier that night)
go
they had good energy for this show, despite the sweltering heat. there
wasn't a whole lot of stage banter, but they seemed in good spirits, and
the fans reciprocated. the sing-alongs were great, and a&e thanked us a
couple of times for singing along.
lia and i both agreed that the best songs were the loud rockers (go and
laramie) and the quiet songs with vocal harmonies (collecting,
deconstruction).
i hadn't been keeping up with reading the other reviews, so i didn't notice
amy' braids at first, i thought she had just got a nice shortish haircut.
i must say i'm not partial to them myself, but i'm sure they're more
comfortable in hot weather.
at one point before the show, a small spotlight appeared on the letters
"ar" in the harley-davidson motor cycles logo above the stage. too bad
they didn't notice the "es" at the end of "cycles". it was cute, anyway.
peace,
barb
