i just happened to see this show listed when i went on ticketmaster earlier
today. this show is on friday, september 27, in washington township (close
to philadelphia). its a small venue, 2,500 seats. no one seemed to know
about this show, so there are probably good seats still available!

here's a promo i found on the wire tonight for an
article coming in sunday's ny times magazine. it will
be interesting to see who else they highlight in the
article....deb
nytmag-folkmusic-lesbians the number of female
performers in folk who are openly lesbian, bisexual or
actively pro-gay has been rising in recent years and
seemingly at a higher rate than in other styles of
music. the music festivals, concert halls and clubs
have rosters full of artists who are lesbian or widely
recognized as gay-friendly: melissa etheridge, ani
difranco, k.d. lang, the indigo girls, nanci griffith,
holly near, janis ian and dozens more. lesbians have
had such success in acoustic music that more than one
female performer has been charged with posing as a
lesbian to exploit the market and some men in the
field have begun to talk of feeling alienated. by
