due to the combined efforts of many folks, i'm pleased to announce a tree
for the november 13th and 14th san francisco fillmore shows.  these
high-quality, complete recordings were beautifully recorded by andy
schneider from the balcony with professional neumann mics and mic stands.
he also transferred them.  they sound amazing!  scroll down for the
setlists.  both shows include new songs from the album due out next year.

jude is graciously creating attractive cover art and bonster has offered to
make it available for download.  the liners should be ready sometime this
week.  we'll post the link when they're complete. (i've seen a preview and
they look great!)

the following folks are willing to make copies.  please email your branch
person and arrange with them on whether they would like to set up a trade or
do a b&p.  they're all great people who didn't hesitate to take this on
during the busy holiday season, so remember to say please and thank you! : )

if you are in europe, please contact: elaine@nobullfitness.co.uk  she was
kind enough to handle an entire continent by herself.

for the rest of you, please email the person next to your birthday month.

i liked the studio version better than the live versions i've heard. but the song itself seems like an odd choice.

i think "perfect world" is a good choice for first single, (though,
admittedly, i have not yet heard all the new songs... i've only heard about half of
them).  pw sounds very radio-friendly to me. it sounds like it has "hit"
potential, (of course, we all know that these days a song becoming a hit usually has
more to do with marketing than anything else).

anyone else disappointed with this? i think it is way too "processed". i loved the version i heard live, but i don't care for the studio version much. i love all the new songs i've heard live. i must admit that my favorite way to hear the girls is acoustic and raw, so i hope i'm not disappointed with the new album. :(

i haven't heard the live version yet, but i happen to love this studio
version. love the sound of it, love the drums on the intro. maybe it'll
just take some getting used to? try putting the live version out of your
mind and pretending it's a completely different song.

it's totally in my head now... :)

die-hards?

if so please  email russell carter at  either russell @rcam.com or
russell@mindspring.com or .net (it's either one of the two email
addresses.

i emailed russell suggesting that in each town/city ig come to....that
they add an
extra small club appearance for just us  die-hards.

and i would like everyone who reads this to do
the same......i know some of you may feel that
that would be asking too much....if that's the case than would you just
ask for another small
club tour to be done at ig's wishes?

nothing personal but here are my reservations

great in theory - but - in practice it doesnt really work - first of all -
if you live in some netherland where like any show is a good show (maine) a
ig show doesn't need to have an additional club show - it would be cool
say, if amy did a surprise gig at a small club solo after a show and you
happened to be there.

how do define diehard - fan club members like rem or pearl jam - that takes
an incredible amount o time and effort - which means hiring people - and
trust me - people bitch about their great seats, which is a kinda thankless
gesture.

after following several bands - and totally different forms of music - ig
seem sooo accessable that to bitch about a club show seems like asking too
much - i mean yeah, i saw the promo by tour - and was more annoyed people i
see at every ig show were shut out of tickets.  and in my experiences,
college ig shows are waaay more intimate in maine (hey, how many people
does amy ask "ok, what do you want to hear me play, i yell r+j, and she was
singing it directly to me - i have people to verify it)

compared to rem or u2, they tour tons more and good seats are not like
impossible to get.

no, they arent the counting crows, tori amos,  fugazi, or sci, who are
waaay more open to dealing with fans and meeting them and helping people
get into shows etc. but they dont need  to be...

altho - if they broadcast those diehard shows - many of the diehards would
be home recording it - and big shows have advantages - like the shiver down
my neck when the entire audience does stipe's part of kid fears...

hello there!  i'm offering up the 8/14/96 indigo girls
show for trade only, at this time (no b&p's just now,
please).

this is a very unique show because it is the first of
only two times joan jett joined the girls on stage and
performed crimson & clover with them.  there are also
a few songs that received a "limited run" of
performances, such as leeds, chiapas bound and
winthrop.

here's the full setlist:

disc 1:
reunion
hammer and a nail
don't give that girl a gun
get out the map
hey kind friend
gailieo
hand me downs
leeds
i don't wanna know
wild horses (w/ michelle malone)

disc 2:
it's alright
chiapas bound
tried to be true
shame on you
winthrop
least complicated
crimson & clover (w/joan jett)
cut it out
closer to fine
kid fears

please email boot lists to icyspook@yahoo.com.
international traders are welcome, but please
understand it may take me a bit longer to get the
discs to you than it will for traders in the us.

thanks,
icy
