coser to fine
least complicated
three hits
watershed
hammer & a nail
strange fire
reunion
shame on you
power of two
galileo
kid fears
leaving

nice background music to type or read to. the songs sound familiar but
feel different. although, at one point i lost track of the songs and
couldnt recognise strange fire or reunion. most of the songs start off
sounding just like the originals and then they go off on a bouncy
bluegrass pickin style or a slow sad fiddle sound depending on the song.
its interesting and dennis caplinger is very talented. it probably wont
go in my car but i will give it time in the stereo at home. enjoy.

i saw violent femmes at lupo's a couple of years back.
it's a very intimate setting (read: small).  it's a
really great place to see a show, and definitely worth
the trip.

i just tried to order tickets to see what seating was left and what came up was:

"full price ticket" ($25) for general admission only
how does that work at this venue?  do they let those w/mezzanine seats in first and do the rest stand?

it's a little confusing....

hey everyone,

well, after being told for over two weeks that jodie was doing well enough to be moved to a regular hospital room, she finally was moved out of the icu on sunday, september 11.  so, that was a good day for us. :)  i think what finally prompted the move was our insurance company.  i received a letter in the mail saying that as of september 9 it was considered medically unnecessary for jodie to remain in the icu and any further days there would not be covered by insurance.  the letter was also sent to jodie's doctor.  so, i guess that's what finally prompted them to make the move.

everyone has been very happy that she has moved to a 'regular' room.  she is still on isolation, which means anyone who visits her and any nurse, doctor, or tech who enters her room must wear gloves and a gown.  most people think it's to protect jodie from their germs, but actually, it's to protect anyone who's in contact with jodie from getting her 'germs.'  since she had that infection, although she doesn't seem to now, they don't want anything spreading to anyone else.

she is doing well.  she's in good spirits.  she spends many hours every day sitting in her chair instead of laying in bed.  she watches a lot of tv to stave off the boredom.  on friday, eli and i are going to have a 'sleepover' at the hospital and spend the night with jodie.  eli asked me a few days ago why we didn't sleep at the hospital anymore like the night we brought her into the hospital (at 2 a.m.).  i told him we were only allowed because it was an emergency situation and because she was brought in so late.  but, a day or so later a nurse asked her if she would like for her family to spend the night.  eli's 5th birthday is tuesday, september 21st, so this is jodie's birthday present to him. :)

her new address is jodie virago, room 605, st. joseph medical center, 7601 osler dr., towson, md, 21204.

sorry i haven't written in a while.  i've been quite busy with school.  it is going quite well.  i have a very good group of kids.

peace all, melissa

hi, i usually just lurk and read posts but this morning had something
get under my skin.  i just have to say to people who will more than
likely understand...i'm embarrassed to say that i was born in louisiana!
i just don't get it.  i'm a married, hetero man...is there something
wrong w/ me that i feel that two people who are committed to one another
be it straight, gay, purple, alien, whatever...should be allowed to
enter into the same union my wife and i have (we were married by a
divorce judge...so yes, it's a 'civil union' and not some religious
commitment)?  should have the same legal rights and tax benefits (oh
yeah, its actually a tax penalty to get married...another tangent,
explain the bush logic in pushing marriage but making it a tax burned
when you do it?)?  yet, its perfectly fine for britney spears to get
married for 50 hours...yeah, that strengthens the institution of
marriage!  louisiana logic i guess...so glad i left.

sorry...back to lurk mode...

i think your post is beautiful, and on the mark.  this country has gone
batshit crazy.  a catholic friend of mine (she's 76) just called to tell me that
voter registration forms were placed in parish bulletins across the
midwest...with a call to vote for bush.  we're on our way to facism, folks.

i hate what this country has become.

no kidding.......hah.....well, the churches do have the right to self
expression, but making voter reccommendations is so ludicrous...especially in
public-like the mass, and in the bullettin...where everyone who picks it up gets to
see it whether they want it or not.....if a person wishes to see a
reccommendation they can call their local piests and lay people.  i don't like my church
leaders not trusting me the voter, to make a perfectly good choice.

i mean that just totally pisses me off. and george w. bush is the worst
president we've had in a long time.....i do not need my church telling me who i'm
to vote for
i'm going to rebel  and vote for kerry anyway. and i encourage all catholics
to do the same. dang that gets me.
