hi all,

the all-woman old time band, uncle earl will be playing four dates in
oregon and washington this week.  i wholeheartedly recommend going to see
them.  their guest bass player for the shows will be sharon gilchrist from
mary and mars (her other claim to fame is that she was in a band with
martie and emily from the dixie chicks when they were all teens).

uncle earl puts on a great show with a lot of unexpected treats:  their
guitar player sometimes clogs, their banjo player sometimes sings in
chinese and their fiddle player loves murder ballads where the woman kills
the man (these are rare).  if you go and you like them, i have several
live shows i could send you, just let me know.  i also have an article i
wrote about the band for the colorado daily.  i'd be happy to send it to
anyone who's interested.  -g.

p.s. my dreams of indigograss may be coming true, i just heard that ig
have already confirmed for merlefest 2005.  that's big!

i'll be at the seattle show this friday.  if anyone would like to join me for a
pint, let me know.

oigc:  um.... i've been listening to some recent (past three years) indigo girls
boots lately, and i'm really enjoying some of the old standards they're
incorporating into the shows.  i love their cover of "american tune" - sends
shivers down my spine everytime i hear it.

hey y'all,

i have an extra ticket for ig's show in joliet (near chicago) at the rialto square theater on 16 october.

it's in row b of the orchestra (5th row w/ pit), seat 101 (amy's side).

i paid $49 for it including all tm fees.  i won't be able to meet you on show night to sell it to you, so we'll have to work something out (mail).

email me if you want it.  indigokare@gmail.com
