hi y'all!

this morning at work, listening to an online radio station with my headphones on, i heard the first few bars of a song i recognized. it turned out to be an artist i never heard of before named grada performing the girl with the weight of the world in her hands. i looked grada up on amazon.com, and the album the song is on is called the landing step, and she just calls the song weight of the world. i thought it was a very good rendition of the song, very smooth and melancholy.

incidentally, the station i heard the song on was radioio (the acoustic tab), and it has been great for hearing many awesome folk artists. they play some of my favorites who are more well-known (ig, catie, dar, ferrick, larkin, nields), and many other artists that are lesser known (at least by me) but who definitely deserve a listen (like grada today). so, if you are looking for an online station, try radioio - acoustic.

state music hall of fame moving to new digs
organizers hope to boost attendance

atlanta -- some travelers passing through atlanta's sprawling airport soon will have some famous duds to gaze at on their way to the gates.

cowboy boots worn by alan jackson, a leather jacket signed by the two members of outkast, even a silk jacket worn by the late ray charles are going on display at hartsfield-jackson atlanta international airport.

the georgia music hall of fame, which has struggled to attract big crowds to its macon home despite georgia's rich music heritage, is hoping a high-profile display at hartsfield will boost visits.

"our idea was how to get maximum exposure for the museum," said spokeswoman jessica walden-griner.

a 300-foot-long display, which will be installed during late-night hours starting wednesday, will include highlights from the museum collection.

included in the exhibit are jackson's boots, the outkast jacket and a vest worn by jerry reed in the movie "smokey and the bandit." a guitar from the folk-rock duo indigo girls will be there, as will items belonging to otis redding, lena horne, the allman brothers band, james brown and little richard.

good morning friends, a brief report from last night's show in portland maine. quite an excellent show, and a nice way to top off the three shows i saw this week (boston, noho and last night). lots of predictable stuff, and some nice suprises: wood song again, cordova in the encore (with emily on piano! i got all excited when she walked up there, thinking she was going to bust out leeds or winthrop-- as if!!), requests honored for go and ghost. they must have said ten times how much they loooove portland, loved having a day off in portland, and how much they love portland fans and their enthusiasm. merilll auditorium is truly an excellent venue, although i ntoiced last night that much of the upper balcony was empty (lack of promotion, perhaps?).

a fabulous night, all in all, and hope you folks in jersey enjoy tonight!
