[sherlyn's note: this is an excerpt of a message which was originally sent to
the indigo girls mailing list at netspace.org.]

howdy everyone.  it's about 12:30 in the morning, and i've just gotten home
from four days of indigo adventures.  [...]

wednesday and thursday were at the botanic gardens in denver.  the setting is
lovely.  it's outdoors.  and most oddly, the musical venue part is
essentially rectangular, with the stage pretty close to in the center.  [...]

the show itself was thoroughly enjoyable, but not especially great.  it
wasn't the show i'd want to bring a newbie to, but no complaints, either.  selist
was as follows:

fill it
become you
hammer
perfect
po2
oz
something real
shame
least complicated
dq
free in you
woodsong
map
go
10k
yield
watershed
heartache
ctf
driver's ed? (new song to me)
galileo

absolute highlights for me were you and me of the 10,000 wars and watershed.
what an incredible treat!  two of my all-time favorites, with one of my
favorites of recent years in between.  it was a transcendent trifecta.

[...]

the night two setlist was:
perfect
fill
reunion
po2
canaan
collecting you
dq
come on home
yield
let it be me
become you
all that we let in
johnny
ctf
go
virginia
heartache
map
chickenman (w/ bitterroot)
tether
galileo

i think my highlight was land of canaan.  it always kicks some ass live.  [...]

night three was an entirely different animal and setting.  instead of the
middle aged wine and cheese crowd, we were up in a mountain bar.  the place is
called mishawaka (the mish), and it's about 45 minutes outside of ft. collins,
up the poudre canyon.  in some ways it was a great venue, in other ways in
sucks.

the setting is quite beautiful, along a river, in a canyon.  the stage is out
in back of the bar, near the river.  those are the positives.  on the
negative side, it's a very high, fairly distant stage, and a lot of people were drunk
and obnoxious.

[...]

the show itself was most excellent.  it's almost as if they were getting
better every night as they adjusted to the altitude.

setlist was:
perfect
fill
become you
hammer
heartache

po2
oz
watershed
shame
least complicated
dq
free in you
yield

go

something unfamiliar to me - my dog...  my heart...

galileo

by the way, i apologize if i got any of the titles wrong.  i don't have the
album nearby to reference, and i don't know it as well as i should.

nothing rocked my world, but it was all good.  [...]

tonight's show was at the chautauqua theater right here in my town- boulder,
co.  how cool is that?!

[...]

it was a fabulous show, clearly the best of the four, imo.

[...]

chautauqua is a great park / hiking place near the foot of the flatirons
mountain.  the venue itself is essentially a big old barn.  it's not fancy, but
the acoustics are great.

the audience was a pleasure - both enthusiastic and appropriately quiet.
and, a&e really mixed up the setlist a bit, which always keeps things fresher.

all that
devotion (yes, really)

american tune
galileo

not surprisingly, american tune rocked my world.  i don't know if i've heard
it in the last ten year.  it was very, very cool.  so was the whole rest of
the show.

by the way, i've been seeing ig shows since 1989, starting to tour in
earnest, starting in 1992.  "what a long, strange trip it's been."

so it was very cool that they tweaked the setlist so much for closing night.
leaving, devotion, american tune, she's saving me, etc.  how cool is that?
also, having michelle join them was great, as always.  i'm only wishing she was
out there more.  woulda been call to catch "i don't wanna know" or "tried to
be true."  oh, well.  tough to complain.  after all, it was maybe the best
version of chickenman i've ever heard.  a&e acoustic, plus mm on backsing vocals

[...]

ok.  stopping now.  need sleep.

subject: [ig-news] indigo girls on wxpn friday 06 aug

[sherlyn's note: this message was originally sent to the indigo girls
mailing list at netspace.org.]

the indigo girls will be on wxpn (88.5 fm in philadelphia)
on friday 06 august, on world cafe.

this program is at 2pm eastern time (11am pacific time),
adjust appropriately for other time zones, see the web at
    <http://www.worldcafe.org/comingup.php>
    <http://xpn.org/listen.php>

there are two web addresses that work for wxpn
    <http://love.str3am.com/asx/xpn.asx>
    <http://wma.str3am.com/xpndotorg>

the musical guests for davis dye's world cafe usually start
about 20 minutes after the hour, and usually play 20-25 min,
but on occasion they play the whole hour so be prepared.

why do i mention other time zones?

because they broadcast on the web 24/7, i listen nearly
every day, you need windows media player.

they also broadcast on a slew of other stations across the
country, i often listen again on wumb at 6pm, check the
world cafe website for a list of other stations/times.

both stations re-broadcast some time around midnight.
