hey folks,

i don't know too much about this, but canadian band lesbians on
ecstasy have apparently done some kind of take on "prince of darkness"
calld "closer to the dark".  you can check out
http://www.afterellen.com/music/2005/2/ecstasy.html for an article
about this...

and i'm not sure if this is old news or not, but ig are listed as
performers on olivia cruises's mexican riviera cruise this year, oct
28 - nov 5...

cheers,
sherlyn

i didn't enjoy loe very much when i saw them open for
le tigre. all their songs sounded the same to me.
however some folks at the club did seem to be enjoying
them, so take my opinion for what it's worth!

you can listen to selections to their songs here:

i love lesbians on ecstasy! i think it's fabulous that they sample from a
variety of lesbian music that today's baby dykes may not really know about
or care about since it's "uncool" (did anyone else read some of the nasty
things that were said on the homo-a-gogo message board about ig being the
special guests? such a lack of respect for one's elders, sigh). their
version of prince of darkness is great cuz it actually gives the dark
musical background to those dark lyrics. they do a version of constant
craving that's totally the opposite of the smooth tastiness of kd's voice,
but variety is good, yes? also some mle and tracy chapman. my absolute
favorite is the team dresch song...the title escapes me at the moment.
lesbians on ecstasy is not for you if a) you don't like "loud" music or b)
you have no sense of humor. here's 2 songs you can listen to in full

i recommend the alaska discovery cruise this may.  not only are my friends
wishing chair (they do not suck!) performing on the cruise, but so are the
amazing and funny lisa koch and vickie shaw, as well as the stunning mary
chapin carpenter.

i wish i could go.
