hi folks,
sorry, it doesn't look like ig were on "breakfast with the arts" last
sunday after all. my bad. but apparently they're scheduled for this
upcoming sunday (march 20) so, either i read the a&e site wrong before
or... actually, that's probably what happened. :) anyway, they should
be on this sunday; check your local guides to be sure...

up late and bored with my work project. so i surf around on the itunes
music store randomly punching in ig song titles to see what i would
come up with. sure "welcome me" brought up joan baez's cover. but
who knew that closer to fine was covered by a band named pearson. the
30 second clip was interesting--much harder edge to it. i still have
yet to hear wonder stuff's version of ctf (not available in itunes).
and alas, entering secure yourself produced a nice acapella version
sung by the st lawrence university sinners. who knew?!
i tried a bunch more but grew tired (i'm an american--short attention
span and a need for instant gratification). if anyone finds any others
in there, do inform! my dream cd is an ig tribute album. i know these
tribute cd's often butcher the originals, but i just love cover albums.
alison krauss and kristen hall harmonizing world falls? maybe next
decade when ig retire. pleasant dreams...

hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that indigo girls are the featured
artist on studio c today on cities 97 fm. you can tune in at 5:00 central to
www.cities97.com and listen to the live stream. they usually play 3 songs
that you cannot buy, which means songs that were performed when ig has
visited the station. they are always pretty good.
just thought i'd share.
take care!

naa..i just emailed off-list. i dunno the website - tho moorewatch.com is a
descent one, the counter movie is farenhype 9/11 - if you can listen
through ann coulter and zell miller, it actually raises some very good
issues. mike moore is an interesting individual and all, but he has...umm
issues with presenting a balanced view or some clever editing. and he is a
prick in person. but i think his heart is in the right place.

blockbuster has it for rental, i'd actually consider buying it as it does
provide some honest insights.

hasnt passed the house yet, and the house and senate budgets are very
different. it certainly isnt the final vote in allowing drilling...

right, mike. i see it as a symbolic vote, which opens up future opportunities to drill in the four corners area, for example. and the three democratic senators who voted for the bill ~ disappointing! mary landrieu, especially....

ugh! three democrats actually voted for it? that sucks. which three?
at least this was not the final vote. i've said it before and i'll say it
again: i feel like i'm one bad day away from becoming and eco-te**orist
(stars to prevent the government spies from picking this up on their radar).
if this actually happens, that could be the day. i can't even think about it
without feeling angry and sick.
on the bright side, we seem to be getting closer to legal gay marriage in
ca. and my new boss is half of a gay couple and they have an adopted
daughter.

i thought it was sold, but then the buyer bailed. i still have a good
single available for the denver show on 3/31. it's in the 3rd row behind the pit.
floor 3, row 3, seat 107. that's 1 seat off the aisle. drop a line if you
or anyone you know is interested.
please feel free to pass this along.

well, what a great way to welcome spring...
indigo girls: the indigo girls have been performing together for over
twenty years, and with each release, this famed folk duo adds more fine
songs to their already extensive catalog. they join us here in our studio
to perform several songs off of their cd all that we let in: "perfect
world," "fill it up again," "heartache for everyone," and their previous
hit "galileo."

the nearly-concluded sxsw music festival is offering up a free, legal
bittorrent download of over 750 mp3s from their showcase artists. it's
huge (2.63gb), and there's a certain amount of wading through the dreck
to find the gems, but it's a great way to (legally) check out a bunch
of artists from all over the globe.
the links to the bittorrent files can be found at
http://2005.sxsw.com/geekout/fest4pod/
as well as a link where you can download the bit torrent client of your
choice.
i've only just started going through the download (which took 7 days
for me -- your results may vary), but there's a lot of great stuff thus
far.
enjoy!

there. i really enjoyed it and will be listening again while i can.
