hkfs,

anyone have a setlist for wednesday's show? i managed to compile an =
incomplete one (with absolutely no order whatsoever). just curious to =
see if i missed anything...here's what i got:

fill it up again
heartache for everyone
dairy queen
power of two
least complicated
shame on you
devotion
let me go easy
closer to fine (w/sarah b.)
prince of darkness
our deliverance
go
ozilline
joking
kid fears
get out the map
driver education (amy)
winthrop (emily)
yield
galileo

did they do virginia woolf and gone again, or was it just my =
imagination? :0)

sooooo jealous they played lwcty on tuesday. my love for sarah bettens, =
coupled with the limited size of my wallet, forced me to only go to the =
wed. show. that show was great, however. maybe any dedicated fan who has =
a setlist would also have a boot? if only to hear emily say "fuck" in =
the middle of prince of darkness when she messed up the words. :0) too =
cute!

thanks!

[1] - our deliverance. the audience applauded when emily sang the lines
"... lay down your weapons and love your neighbor as yourself..."

[2] - prince of darkness. emily introduced this as an old song. somewhere
in the middle she forgot to sing, laughed and picked up singing but she
must have messed up the words shortly after because she laughed again and
said "f*ck!" at the song's end she apologized with a "sorry y'all"

[3] - after get out the map, the crowd sang happy birthday to emily-- she
replied "every day is my birthday!" and then said "raise your hand if it is
your birthday today" and a lot of people raised their hands.

[4] - let me go easy. amy messed up a chord and groaned "ahhhhhh!"

[5] - driver education.  amy introduced this song by saying she wrote it
for "her lady" who is from seattle. someone must have said "that's cool"
because amy said back, "i think that's cool too."

[6] - virginia woolf.  amy's guitar strap broke at the beginning of the
song. she caught the guitar as it fell. i'm not familiar with
the parts of the guitar but the part that broke was on the large side of
the guitar -- not the neck, so the heavy end was falling first.  i don't
think emily noticed. amy very patiently and slowly put the guitar and strap
back together. after the song she showed emily what happened and told the
crowd that hasn't happened before. she claimed she'd had the strap since 1984.

emily then asked if there was a full moon out tonight (yes!)-- all the
strange things happening on stage. this is the first year that the concert
did not take place at the pier. instead we were at lake union and the space
needle is in the background. amy commented about the space needle and said
"this is a mysterious place". she went on to say that the southeast doesn't
have alien creations and that there isn't anything as tall as the space
needle in georgia.

a great show, a fine summer evening and lots of beautiful ladies (shame on me!)

elizabeth

hey, y'all,
it's been a very long time since i've seen an ig show, so even though
this was a short-ish festival set, i was glad to see them at the wxpn
festival. i didn't make a set list, but it was a lot of the usual favorites: ctf,
canaan, power of 2, ghost, chickenman, get out the map, shame on you, and some
songs from the newer cds that (bad ig fan that i am!) i don't know by name! it
was just the two of them, but it sounded great to this lax ig fan. a highlight
was that erin mckeown did some backup harmonies and the third verse of ctf.
what a treat!
it was a great day, overall. i've wanted to see patti smith since,
well, before some of you were born, and i finally saw her. she was sincerely
delighted to see such a bigtime show in camden, b/c she grew up in nj and is eager
for camden to turn around from its misfortune (as opposed to loudon
wainwright iii, who made a lame joke about knowing he was in camden by spotting the
crack dealer on the corner).
i also was glad the show was so accessible via public trans. all in
all, fabulous!

any day with patti smith and ig on the same bill is a good day indeed...

(and yes, even tho i am too young to claim i really wanted to see patti
smith group, i turned down her 1st post retirement show at the kerouac
festival in 1995...)

y'all,

is there anyone out there with an mp3 of girlyman's version of
born at the right time? i was hoping it would be on little
star, but it's not. i know they usually begin their set with
it when they open for ig, so i was hoping someone out there
had a bootleg.

and how about this: if somebody sends it to me, i'll post to

hi folks -
the last time i went to a gig at the dodge / meadows/ ctnow venue was in
1997 when i had front row for ig, it was a blessed event. i stayed at a red
roof inn right down the street from the venue

my question: is that hotel still there (i have been to hartford for other
things, but not overnight)  or does anyone know of a train or bus north
after a show (like coldplay thursday night?)

and is anyone a rent or other broadway show freak here- and do you have any
boots (obc cast of rent, avenue q, spamalot, aida, wicked, esp...)

and fran - mother of all den moms - i will call you soon.

oh - does anyone want hit the today show movie cast taping on 8/4 (obc
minius the original mimi and someone else) and the broadway at bryant park
that afternoon...

i'm hoping to see both - any ig rent heads out there???

i had no idea that my cable company now includes this channel in my service but there's a great variety of programming on it, and to my surprise, i came aross this performance (from 99?) last night.  it will be repeated on 7/29 at 7pm and 7/30 at 11am.  go to:

www.logoonline.com and click on tv schedule

there are commercials so it runs for 2 hrs.
