hey y'all,

i have a ticket for the reno/sparks show for sale. it's 5th row, emily
aisle. it's a single ticket, and i don't know who you'd be sitting next to.
i paid $55 total for it, which included nevada entertainment tax,
tickets.com fees, etc (yes, the ticket was $40, and yes, that is a whopping
$15 in fees!).

i can either meet you at the gig and give it to you then, or mail it to you.
your call. you can pay me with paypal or a money order. i'd kind of like to
get the cash when you agree to buy the ticket.

email me if you are interested.  :)

xoxo

Wonderful show in boulder tonight.  it was at the chautauqua  auditorium,
which is an old barn/theater with great acoustics in chautauqua  park, nestled in
the foothills of the flatirons.  it's also but yards away  from where karen
and i got married last september.

tonight's show was not life changing, but it was thoroughly  enjoyable.  i
needed it.

i had my five year old, emily with me, so i missed most of brandi carlile
(we were playing outside), but she was clearly at the top of her  game.

We were in the center section in the front row, but not in my happy  seat #s
(between a&e).  it was great to be joined by many friends -  laura, carol,
barb, marci, chris, siobhan, patsy, luke, dana, renee, and  more.

the crowd stayed sitting until ctf.  usually, i'm a standing/rushing,
supporter/instigator, even when i'm frc, but with my little one, i decided to be
pleased sitting still until others made it happen.

e - they opened with pendulum swinger.  not splendid, but solid good,  and i
was damn happy to be there.

a- then yield, a favorite of mine.  i'm really glad it's been a set  list
regular since it came out.  it strikes deep in my concert touring  heart and will
always be the year of john's death, to me.

e - it's alright was a great crowd pick me up.  i've never loved it,  but it
keeps growing on me.

a- devotion was wonderful.  i've been slow to come around to it since  it's
release, but i really dug it tonight.

e - run was surprisingly good.  i'm glad it made the set list.

a - money made you mean.  i resonate with the core sentiment, but i  just
don't think it's that strong an amy song.  i get where she's going  with it, but
i plain think she could've done better.

e - our deliverance.  never a favorite of mine, but most certainly  powerful
and poignant.

a - heartache for everyone.  i don't know if it was a particularly  good
rendition, or if it just struck my fancy tonight (blessedly, not reflective  of my
life), but i was diggin it.

e - fill it up again.  it's just one of those great emily pop  tunes.  bit of
an odd mix of relationship and politics in one song, but i  just always like
it live.

a - ozillene.  nice intro from amy, talking about how her perspective  on her
grandmother and her mom's perspective were quite different.  lots of  people
love the song.  i still don't.

e - hope again.  nice little emily song, but never a fave of  mine.  odd
choice for a live set list, but it was a strong performance that  nicely featured
brandi carlile.

a - shame on you.  always a happy live song.  that rare thing - a  catchy
amy, singalong, pop song.

e - get out the map.  emily's version of shame on you.  i didn't  love it
when it came out, but it's always been a crowd fave, and it's grown on  me.

a - become you.  haven't heard this in a while.  also glad this  one stuck.
excellent version of an excellent song.  amy sure has  gotten better on that
harmonica since she first unveiled this one.  (anyone  remember?)

e - last tears w/ brandi carlile and her cellist, josh.  not a great  live
song, but lovely.

dylan - don't think twice, it's alright w/ brandi.  very likable, but  not
revelatory.  anyone remember them doing this one with kristen hall in  the early
90s?

a - kid fears w/ brandi.  the only time of the night that i wasn't  really
digging brandi.  didn't like her interpretation of michael stipe's  part.  nice
to hear the song, though.

e - closer to fine w/ brandi.  fine.  good.  nice.
the crowd came up.  everyone was careful not to step on my sleeping  daughter
who was now sleeping on the floor.  thank you, all.

encore break

e - power of two.  not particularly notable, but nice.  kind of  lame
audience singing.

a - tried to be true with brandi and her band.  (cello, acoustic  guitar, and
acoustic bass.  i was missing a drummer in a big bad  way.)  i didn't
particularly love the less rocking version, but still, it  was my highlight of the
night.  don't let go the coat, never let go of the  coat.

a - rock and roll heaven's gate with brandi and the band.   psych.  very
cool.  loved it.  so want to see it with a band that  includes a drummer!  enjoyed
having the vid in my mind.

e - galileo with brandi (not the band).  the only notable element was  brandi
singing jackson's part.  i loved that.  i've missed it all 50  or so times
i've seen it.  oddly satisfying.

looking forward to tomorrow night.  sorry i couldn't help out with  kbco
taping.  just too much to do today.

no complaints other than:
the shoW is too damn short.  the shoW is too damn short.  damn  amy's punk
ethic.

i still dream of the $10 club tour where first in line got to choose the  set
list.  i so want to do that.  i want joking.  i want  Watershed.  i want bury
my heart.  i am so grateful for what i get,  but i want so much.

love to all,

lauren
(Who got screwed at the chautauqua onsale and desperately needs a front row
ticket for tomorrow night!)
