(amy ray)
sender: owner-ig-news@smoe.org

hello again,
in honor of the new year, here is the first of two bonus shows - this one
is an excellent sounding recording of a solo acoustic performance that amy
ray made on new years eve in 1994. rainy day records was a store front
record store in a strip mall in northeast atlanta, whose proprietor perry
was a big supporter of the atlanta music scene and who used to have a lot
of the local artists come by and give afternoon performances in his
store. rainy day records was also the source of the "early recordings"
series of bootlegs (these are available from download from my bootlegs page
- - http://www.lifeblood.net/bootlegs.html), the last i heard of perry was
that he had retired to the florida keys in the late 1990's. in this
recording amy borrows caroline aiken's guitar to play "lincoln duncan", a
paul simon cover, and "problem child", an early version of "go" with
differing lyrics.

subject: [ig-news] video: 1995-03-20: jesus christ superstar - texas music hall,
austin, texas (daemon records release)
sender: owner-ig-news@smoe.org

hey again,
i promise this is the last e-mail from me today, just wanted to give
everyone a heads up that the video files for 1995-03-20: jesus christ
superstar - texas music hall, austin, texas (the daemon records release)
are currently being uploaded to the lifeblood site. this performance was
commercially released on videocassette by daemon records back in 1996,
their master recording eventually went missing when their supplier went out
of business, which caused this title to go out of print. they have since
said publicly that it is okay to trade copies of their release.
if you have not seen and/or heard of this performance it is really
terrific, and i highly recommend considering purchasing the official jesus
christ superstar soundtrack (it contains studio performances rather than
the soundtrack from this video) which is still available via daemon records:
http://www.daemonrecords.com/jcs/index.htm
the download link for the first file should be working this evening by 7pm
mountain time, and by 4pm mountain time tomorrow all the links should be
working. here is the direct link for the show:

hi there,
hope this finds everyone doing well : )
this weeks show is a pretty good sounding band show from the tail end of
the "shaming of the sun" touring season, part of a group of benefit shows
sandwiched between appearances at "lilith fair" and the "suffragette
sessions tour". the setlist includes a nice mix of the songs that would
later comprise the "come on now social" record, there are a lot of spirited
performances here including an incredible "cut it out" segueing into "wish
you were here", an arrangement in progress of "soon be to nothing", and a
very early version of "measure of me" including different lyrics from what
was eventually released.
